Gwyneth Paltrow Says Octopuses are ‘Too Smart To Be Food’

Tell that to Japan, Gwyn.

Gwyneth Paltrow is famous for her weird moon dust rich person diet and being an advocate of jamming jade eggs in your snatch, so it’s honestly not surprising she has invented a weird arbitrary reason to be offended about eating octopus.

While exchanging restaurant recommendations with Goop staffers in their Slack messenger group, one staffer suggested barbecued octopus, and she went off.

“They have more neurons in their brains than we do. I had to stop eating them because I was so freaked out by it.”

That’s actually not true. Humans have 100 billion neurons. Octopuses only have 500 million. On the other hand, Gwyneth Paltrow says it’s ok to eat squid because they’re “the dumb cousin” of the octopus.
