Joey Fatone Says NSYNC Super Bowl Reunion Will Happen If They Have Nothing Better to Do

Justin Timberlake is scheduled to headline this year’s Super Bowl and, not surprisingly, his former NSYNC bandmates want in on the action.

TMZ caught up with Joey Fatone because no one talks to anyone from NSYNC unless Timberlake is scheduled to do a big performance.

Fatone started by saying that it would be interesting if Timberlake brought Janet Jackson out on stage. When asked whether NSYNC would reunite, he said, “We’ve done Super Bowl before. If it’s right, we do it. If everybody can’t do it, then we don’t do it. It’s pretty simple.”

There you go. If those other guys from NSYNC that you don’t remember are too busy to perform with Timberlake during the Super Bowl halftime show, it’s not happening. I’m sure there’s no way JC Chasez can get out of his club appearance in South Dakota. You know why else this reunion won’t happen? Because Timberlake decides that he doesn’t want to carry these geeks for another two-minute performance.

NYSNC got back together at the MTV Music Video awards in 2013 and Chasez went into business for himself at the end:

Now, imagine that same performance in 2018 except that they’re even worse. There’s a reason why Timberlake is still making hit records and the rest of them go through the airport unrecognized.

I’m all for Janet Jackson showing up to strip Timberlake and Britney Spears showing up because she still looks like this:

But I don’t need to see NSYNC again in 2018 unless they are going to bring out the Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees as well. Bring out all three major boy bands from my childhood, have them re-create the Anchorman fight scene, but real, and then I’m on board with it. Otherwise, leave Fatone, Lance Bass, JC Chasez, and the other guy at home.
