Mark Wahlberg Let It Be Known That He Doesn’t Work For Free

Mark Wahlberg finessed All the Money in the World backers out of $1.5 million to work on Thanksgiving while Michelle Williams did it out of the kindness of her heart.

Wahlberg has a perfectly valid reason for wanting $1.5 million while others got little to nothing.

The man doesn’t work for free.

Here’s what went down according to TMZ:

*The producers needed to re-shoot the movie after they fired Kevin Spacey and replaced him with Christopher Plummer. Michelle Williams was happy to do her re-shoots for free. She was paid $80 as a per diem.

*Ridley Scott, the director, talked Mark Wahlberg into doing the re-shoots, but the two did not discuss money.

*Wahlberg and his reps talked to the movie financiers and were like, “I aint working for free. So pay me or CGI me into the movie.” So, financiers paid him $1.5 million because that costs less than a Wahlberg CGI.

*Scott said everyone did it for free because that’s what he thought. He feels betrayed by Wahlberg.

The kicker here is that Williams and Wahlberg are represented by the same agency. So, Wahlberg doesn’t work for free, but Williams does.

There’s no saving Wahlberg in this one. He comes off as a dick and unless he gives his money to charity, not the Mark Wahlberg Foundation, he’ll always be the dick who took $1.5 million while his co-star and director worked for free.

I’m not sure what everyone expected. Wahlberg doesn’t get out of bed for less than $5,000. You wanted him to give up his Thanksgiving to save your movie that ended up underperforming at the box office all because Kevin Spacey is gay? Yeah, pay up, suckers.
