During the Ukranian premiere of Men in Black 3, a reporter tried to kiss Will Smith on the lips. Turns out you need to buy Will Smith dinner before doing that because Will pushed him away and backhanded him across the face. Well, technically he used the back of his hand but a more fitting description would be he gave him a limp-wristed slap across the face. If I didn’t hear the whole thing, I would have assumed Will Smith said, “Hmph, fresh!”

Showing up at Cannes for his latest vehicle Chinese Zodiac, Jackie Chan told reporters that this would be his last action film. “I tell you, I’m not young any more. I’m really, really tired.”

Jackie continued, “And the world is too violent right now. It’s a dilemma — I like action but I don’t like violence.”
Chan should hook up with Michael Bay. He manages to make 3 hour action movies where nothing happens except for a lot of loud clanging noises.
However, don’t take this as a retirement announcement from Jackie. He wants to move into more serious roles. He wants the world to know him as the Asian Robert De Niro. Which would have been a good thing back in his Raging Bull and Taxi Driver and even Casino days, but now not so much. Even American Robert De Niro has lost a little respect for Robert De Niro.
“For the last 10 years I have been making some other different movies. I want to be an Asian Robert De Niro. I don’t just want to be an action star, I want to be a true actor. I want to get rid of my image,” he said.
“I want the audience to know I’m not only a comedian. I can act. Day by day, year by year, I’m going to show you the real Jackie Chan.”
