And it just goes on and on and on. Another Asian movie is about to be remade. This time it is A Tale Of Two Sisters by Ji-Woon Kim. He directed another stunning movie called A Bittersweet Life. It’s only a matter of time before that one is also remade. The original A Tale Of Two Sisters in short:

Two sisters who, after spending time in a mental institution, return to the home of their father and cruel stepmother. Once there, in addition to dealing with their stepmother’s obsessive and unbalanced ways, an interfering ghost also affects their recovery.

The new plot:

The DreamWorks version centres on modern-day teenage sisters Anna and Alex Rydell who return home from a mental hospital only to find their recovery unravelling because of a cruel stepmother, clueless father and a lingering ghost.

The remake, through Dreamworks, will be directed by first time brother directors, the Guard brothers who bought the rights for $1 million. Prior to this, all the brothers have done are commercials and short films. So, two new directors are going to try and remake a great film? That’s like giving a 5 yr old finger paint and telling him to re-create the Sistine Chapel. Sure, your roof may get some art, but is one hand print turkey touching another hand print turkey that inspiring?
