Last month, Alicia Silverstone posted a video of herself chewing up her son’s food and spitting it into his mouth. Everyone went “eww” while Alicia went “daww.”

Now Alicia is defending her mouth-to-mouth with her son saying people have been doing this for thousands of years. Which is a retarded argument. There are lots of things people have been doing for thousands of years like raping women but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good.

“I wasn’t saying this was anything somebody should do. I wasn’t trying to be independent or cause such a ruckus. I’m very glad that I did it,” Silverstone said Saturday during an audience Q&A at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York to promote her upcoming film “Vamps,” according to the Daily Mail.

“People have been feeding their kids that way for thousands for years. It’s a weaning process,” she said. “It’s just a thing that has been going on for thousands of years and I didn’t think I was inventing anything…”

Doctor’s were asked about this type of feeding and the general consensus is they don’t care because it doesn’t affect the kid’s health at all. Their exact words were, “Hey, whatever, dude. It’s your life.” Alicia added:

“Honestly, when I posted the video I was not thinking, so maybe I was like Cher,” she said.  “I think it’s adorable and it makes me laugh every time he does it.”

Silverstone, who received comments ranging from “this is disgusting” to “you are a brave person” on her blog after posting the video, said she doesn’t regret making her maternal instinct public.

“Every time my husband [Christopher Jarecki] goes to the YMCA, some guy comes over and says, ‘That’s how we do it in the South,’” she said.  “Between him getting those great comments and me knowing in my gut it’s natural and lovely, I really wasn’t trying to tell anybody what to do.”

So Southerners regularly throw up in their kid’s mouth. Remind me never to go to any restaurants in the South. Or any drive-thrus for that matter. I don’t think I could handle it if I ordered a #1 and the lady at the window told me I needed to open my mouth to accept my order.

In a blog post titled “Home Video: Breakfast With Baby Bear,” guess if Alicia Silverstone’s kid, Bear, ended up with a bowl of spaghetti over his head during Italian night or if Alicia Silverstone chewed up a breakfast of flax oil, cast iron mochi wrapped in nori and grated dikon and spit it into her kid’s mouth? Go on, I’ll wait for you to finish dry heaving before giving an answer.

I just had a delicious breakfast of miso soup, collards and radish steamed and drizzled with flax oil, cast iron mochi with nori wrapped outside, and some grated daikon. Yum! I fed Bear the mochi and a tiny bit of veggies from the soup…from my mouth to his. It’s his favorite…and mine. He literally crawls across the room to attack my mouth if I’m eating. Both in the photo and the video, it looks like Alicia Silverstone is making out with her kid. This has to be a joke or some form of advanced internet trolling. Is that child a newborn puppy? Kids have been doing just fine without their mom spitting pre-chewed food into their mouths for ages. There’s absolutely no reason for this. But since she feels that there is a reason, I’m just glad there’s no tongue.

Alicia Silverstone, who’s best known for, actually, really only known for Clueless, gave brith to her first child on Thursday, May 5, her rep tells PEOPLE. She named him Bear Blu Jarecki because celebrities love making their kid’s lives a living hell.

Son Bear Blu Jarecki arrived at 7:50 a.m. and weighed in at 7 lbs., 15 oz.

“We are all three in love!” the actress blogged soon after the announcement. “I’m so grateful to this community for all the love, support, good wishes and happy vibes you’ve sent me during my pregnancy … it has been wonderful. Thank you all!”

Bear Blu Jarecki. Really. Way to doom your child into a life of getting his ass kicked. She might as well make him sleep in a locker instead of crib so he’ll be used to it by the time he starts school.

In addition to PETA’s new campaign of putting a naked Alicia Silverstone in print ads, they also produce videos of a naked Alicia Silverstone coming out of a swimming pool in slow motion. I don’t know what it has to do with being a vegetarian or cruelty to animals, but I don’t think PETA has ever done anything that’s made sense. Like throwing paint on fur coats.
