There were rumors that Disney planned to not release ’s and that they were shopping it around to other studios for distribution. Disney today confirmed that the Mayan language film is still set for release on December 8.

If Roman Polanski can win Oscars for The Pianist, then Mel Gibson should have no problem bouncing back from a DWI and anti-Semetic blabbering. Then again, Polanski didn’t inslut half of Hollywood. He just fled the country after drugging and raping a 13 year old girl.

Mel Gibson's Apocalypto

The one-sheet has just been released. Not sure what the movie is about?

As the Maya kingdom faces its decline, the rulers insist the key to prosperity is to build more temples and offer human sacrifices. Jaguar Paw (Rudy Youngblood), a young man chosen for sacrifice, flees the kingdom to avoid his fate.

All anyone can ask for his more human sacrifices. Especially sacrifices of socialites who are famous for being famous.

The release has been pushed from August to December 8, 2006 and just like used Aramaic and Latin for Passion of the Christ, he is using Yucatec Maya for this one.
