Much like the Grammys, Adele also won Album of the Year at the Brit Awards. When she went up to give her acceptance speech, however, she was cut off within 45 seconds for a performance by Blur. That’s when she flipped everyone off.

Adele said backstage the finger wasn’t meant to offend anyone and it was more for “the suits putting together the show.”

In comparison, Damon Albarn of Blur, who were honored for their Outstanding Contribution to Music, gave a 3 minute acceptance speech. Though to be fair, Blur is way better than Adele and she’s already given about 30 acceptance speeches. Geez, let someone else have a chance to talk, chatty Cathy.

Now that the Pixies have done it and Rage Against the Machine have done it, Blur is reuniting and giving the music thing another shot. Alex James has confirmed Blur is returning to the studio this summer with founding guitarist Graham Coxon. No word yet on whether or not Damon Albarn is on board too. James said,

“We’re all heading into the studio together this summer. Graham’s coming too. We’re gonna see if we’ve still got it. If not, I think we’ll just call it a day.”
