During the first day of filming X Factor, a contestant butchered Britney Spears’ Hold It Against Me. Reports say it was so terrible it made Britney walk off stage. She eventually made her way back but the next four contestants auditioned in front of three judges and an empty seat.

For her part, Britney said she had left, but not because she was angry. She tweeted, ”‘#Britneywalksoff??? LOL was just taking a little break people. I am having the BEST time!!!”

After seeing how much traction this report is getting, producers tented their fingers and muttered, “Yes, yes, eggcellent. The plan is all coming together.” Hopefully they don’t go one step further and ask another contestant to threaten to cut themselves when the judges tell them how terrible their singing is.

Britney Spears started filming for the next season of The X Factor today in Austin, Texas. While that’s all well and good, reports are more focused on her ridiculous rider. Her alleged demands include:

• 34 Herve Leger dress
• 12 Snickers bars
• Six cases of Diet Coke to be replenished each week
• 10 bags of Doritos
• 12 vases of magnolia blossom
• 10 pieces of chicken
• 4 pints of potato salad
• A beauty team including a personal manicurist, facialist and massage therapist

Her spokesperson, however, denies the rumor saying she never made any demands. “The story is totally untrue,” they say. I tend to believe the spokesperson. 10 pieces of chicken and 4 pints of potato salad? C’mon. Britney can eat way more than that.

As expected, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato both showed up to Fox’s upfront presentation to be introduced as the 3rd and 4th X Factor judges.

“Britney was a no brainer,” Cowell said. “We’d spoken a few times, and I’d heard that she wanted to make one of these kinds of shows – but never thought she would agree to it. We got on so well on the phone, it went very smooth in the end.” Spears was rumored to be in negotiations for a few months, finally settling on a deal worth around $15 million.

“Demi, I’ve been a big fan of for a long time and always had a gut feeling she’d be great on one of these shows,” Cowell added. “Again, when we spoke we got on really well…and she’s troubled! SeattlePi

Who knows how smoothly this will go. Especially when every 10 minutes someone needs to calm Demi down after a contestant disagrees with her and she threatens, “What? I swear to god, I’ll cut myself,” and then punches one of the judges in the face.

After a month or so of rumors, Britney Spears has ironed out all the details with producers at X Factor to become the latest judge to join Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid.

Spears will receive $15 million for one season of sitting at a table telling people whether or not they suck. “The contract is signed,” reveals source close to the star. “There’s been a lot of back and forth over the past few weeks as they negotiated the small details, but she’s on. It’s all completed and Britney is beyond excited.”

What remains a mystery is who will listen to her advice considering the amount of auto-tuning and computer wizardry that goes into making one of her songs. The most valuable advice Britney could give is to practice lipsyncing to your backup track the night before.

Britney Spears and her team have finally ironed out the money portion of her X Factor deal negotiating a record $15 million fee for her judging role (Lopez makes $12 million). Not only that, but Britney managed to finagle a producer role for her fiance Jason Trawick. The only thing left is to flesh out the small details and it’ll only be a matter of time before you see Britney sitting next to Simon Cowell.

A second source reveals that her soon-to-be husband (who is also petitioning to become her coconservator), will become a producer on the show. “Jason is expected to be there every day Britney is on set. He is her rock and will help guide her through the process. He is the person she trusts the most,” the second source tells us.

The deal will make Spears the highest paid judge on reality television, eclipsing Jennifer Lopez’s $12 million deal for American Idol. Barring any last-minute snafus, Spears will fill one of two X Factor judging vacancies after Cowell fired Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger at the close of the show’s first season. E!

Britney Spears’ dad, Jamie, has held conservatorship over her for the past four years meaning Britney hasn’t been able to make any decision in regards to her finances or overall well-being without getting his okay. The court basically told Jamie to be a parent all over again. But in a sign that their wedding may be imminent, Jamie is asking the court to add Jason Trawick as co-conservator. Jason will only have control over her well-being (food, clothing and medical care) and not her finances if it goes through.

“This is a very unusual situation, because generally you don’t see conservatees get married,” says Jeffrey S. Cohen, an L.A. probate attorney not involved with the case. “This could be a sign that the couple’s wedding is around the corner.”

Adds Cohen: “This is probably a compromise between Britney, her father and Trawick to get the marriage off on the right foot. Obviously, her future husband needs to have a say in her well being.” PEOPLE

Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger were both kicked off X Factor. Now it’s looking more and more like their positions will be filled by Britney Spears because they just gave her a $10 million offer. They’re hoping for her to go head to head with Christina Aguilera who heads The Voice and Jennifer Lopez on American Idol.

“Are we flattered there would be interest from Britney Spears? Yes,” he said during a conference call two weeks ago. During a radio interview with Billy Bush last week, Cowell went further. “I’m fascinated by Britney,” he said. “The fact that she’s one of the most talked about — not just pop stars but people — in the world today, means that you’ve got this star power. This girl has resilience. I would think that if she’s managed to sustain a family, a career, which is tough, (X Factor would be) a walk in the park. I would be fascinated to hear what she has to say. She’s still hot, she’s still having hit records and she’s still controversial. There’s a reason for that.” Deadline

THR delves deeper saying Britney’s fiance Jason Trawick is negotiating the contract and that Britney is undergoing extensive media training. That probably means they’re drilling into her head that she can’t let out loud farts when she’s mic’d up, giving her a list of pre-written phrases she’s allowed to say and limiting her to one Frappucino a day. If you put your ear to the door, you can hear Britney screaming, “This is bullsh*t!”

While Whitney Houston’s dead body was laying outside of her tub four floors up, Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy bash was going strong. Celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Sharon Osbourne and Mily Cyrus opted not to go out of respect for Whitney. But other celebrities like Britney Spears, Tom Hanks, Amber Rose, Adam Lambert and Kim Kardashian thought Whitney would want them to party on. Oh and something about sponsorship obligations.

Kim Kardashian even made an effort to push up her breasts and show them off. In honor of Whitney, of course.

For almost four years now, Britney Spears’ dad, Jamie, has had full control of her personal and financial affairs. Since then, Britney has come back from the brink of crazy and showed everyone she’s somewhat sane. So, before her wedding to Jason Trawick, her dad has decided to give Britney the present of full autonomy.

Where one marriage fails, another one begins. Proving the rumors true, Britney Spears and Jason Trawick got engaged last week at his 40th birthday party at Planet Hollywood.

Spears, donning a short, nude Herve Leger dress, stepped out a few hours later and revealed her highly-anticipated Neil Lane sparkler during a congratulatory welcome on the hotel’s mezzanine. Planet Hollywood Chairman Robert Earl presented Trawick with an oversized birthday cake in a quick ceremony.

“She wanted it to be quick because her kids where upstairs and she wanted to put them to bed,” a source told PEOPLE.

Following the celebration, the duo stopped in at Sugar Factory’s Chocolate Lounge where they shared a turkey burger and a club sandwich in a room closed off to the public to give the couple privacy. A line of waiters where later seen bringing a tray of cupcakes and a large sundae of ice cream covered in sprinkles. [ed. note: naturally]

Old Britney was way more fun. Old Britney would have taken a handful of that cake, shoved it in her mouth and then paraded around Planet Hollywood with a chocolate-smeared face asking if anyone would want to exchange outfits with her. New Britney is boring. New Britney just ends the night at shoving a handful of cake in her mouth.

According to multiple sources, Britney Spears is getting engaged to Jason Trawick tonight. In Las Vegas. And Britney already knows. Wait, wouldn’t that mean they’re already engaged if Britney knows? Being a celebrity with a conservatorship is so confusing.

Sources say Britney’s conservators have given their stamp of approval. The matter will go before the judge in the conservatorship case but it’s virtually certain Brit will get the judge’s sign off.

And we’re told … Jason did it the old fashioned way … by asking Britney’s dad, Jamie Spears, for permission to marry his daughter.

If I didn’t know who Britney was and didn’t know she bastes turkeys with $100 bills, this would be a red flag. It’s almost never a good sign when you ask a girl to marry you and she says she first has to make sure the courts deem her mentally fit to say yes.

Britney Spears performed the final concert of her Femme Fatale tour in Puerto Rico Saturday night. To mark the occasion, she gave Pauly D of Jersey Shore a lap dance or, rather, what appeared to be a lap dance. The jury’s still out on what this actually is. Out of context, it looks like when your mom gets really drunk and tries to seduce your friend but ends up vomiting in their lap.

Britney Spears subsists on a steady diet of fraps and processed foods. Basically anything that will stain her fingers orange. So when her trainer, Derek DeGrazio, tried to make her go on a diet, he was understandably fired.

“It was amicable,” says an insider to In Touch. Britney, 30, doesn’t want to worry about every single thing that goes into her mouth anymore. “She knows Jason loves her no matter what and he has encouraged her not to stress about it.” Adds the insider, “But Derek felt Britney made him look bad when she cheated on her diet.” In Touch

It must have been frustrating for Derek as well. Not just Britney cheating on her diet but every time he put a stalk of celery or steamed broccoli in front of her, she would get all dramatic and hiss and slink away.
