According to People, someone altered Chris Benoit’s Wikipedia entry early Monday to read that he missed a WWE event over the weekend because his wife had just died. The weird part is, the entry was edited before authorities discovered her body.

Cary Bass of Wikipedia traced the alteration to an Internet protocol address registered in Stamford, Conn., where WWE’s headquarters are located, the Associated Press reports.

However, an IP address can be spoofed and the dates could have been fudged to incite some sort of conspiracy theory. Then again, someone could have told someone else before they told the public. As of today, Benoit’s Wikipedia entry is locked due to “vandalism.” Strange. Even though we may never know what happened, one thing we do know is that my sexiness has cured the terminally ill. They should make a statue out of me.

Update: The person who wrote it came forward and said it was a coincidence. Suuure, buddy.

The WWE has released the text messages Chris Benoit sent to co-workers which are said to prove the murder-suicide of him and his family was premeditated. The messages, sent from both his cell phone and his wife’s, gave the location of his remains and where to find his dogs.

An autopsy confirmed Benoit murdered his wife first, his son later and hung himself last leaving no suicide note, just bibles by their bodies. According to Reuters,

Autopsy results showed that Benoit first murdered his wife, Nancy. She was bound at the feet and wrists and died of asphyxiation sometime on Friday, Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard told a news conference.

She was wrapped in a towel and some blood was found under her head but Ballard said there were no other signs of a struggle.

The couple’s son, who also died of asphyxia, was apparently killed as he lay in bed on Saturday morning, hours before Benoit hung himself, Ballard said.

“It was the cord from the weights,” he said, describing how Benoit managed to strangle himself.
Benoit left no suicide note but placed bibles alongside the bodies of his wife and son, Ballard added.

A tribute to Chris Benoit ran on Monday Night Raw, but after discovering the sordid details, WWE president Vince McMahon stated on Tuesday there will be no more mention of Chris Benoit.

Chris Benoit, his wife and seven-year-old son were found dead at their home in Fayetteville, Georgia yesterday. Today, police are calling it a murder-suicide. The bodies were found in three separate rooms and it’s suspected Benoit took his own life after killing his wife and son.

Benoit’s employer, World Wrestling Entertainment, said in a statement on its Web site that he canceled two events in Texas over the weekend, citing an undisclosed family emergency.

Benoit then sent “several curious text messages” to friends early Sunday morning and this prompted authorities to check on Benoit and his family at their home, the statement said.

TMZ has the bizarre details on what may have transpired over the weekend.

Several Atlanta-based law enforcement sources have told TMZ Benoit may have strangled his wife on Saturday, then smothered his son in his bed a day later. Investigators refuse to officially comment, pending final confirmation by the coroner on the cause and time of the deaths.

One source told TMZ that Benoit was texting friends during Sunday’s WWE “Vengeance” Pay-Per-View program — possibly watching the show with his son, who may have been alive at the time.

According to sources, Benoit then hanged himself Monday in a weight room inside the family home.
