Well, not Dakota Fanning personally. Just an ad she did for Marc Jacobs’ Oh, Lola! perfume which has been deemed kiddie porn.

The Advertising Standards Authority in the UK has banned the ad for the fragrance saying the picture of a 17-year-old Dakota Fanning with a blossoming rose in a bottle between her legs sexualizes children and that Dakota may have been 17 but the ads make her look younger. Because looks are everything. How superficial of you, ASA.

“We considered that the length of her dress, her leg and position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality,” the ASA said in a statement. “Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualize a child.”

It did not help that the ad was made intentionally controversial: Designer Jacobs had dubbed his “sensual” Oh, Lola! fragrance — a companion scent to his 2008 Lola perfume — to be “more Lolita than a Lola,” according to the Telegraph. NYDN

Kind of weird considering the age of consent in the UK is 16. Basically, you can bang a willing 16-year-old there but you can’t take suggestive fashion photos of them. What’s even dumber is Dakota is almost 18 and this picture doesn’t make me feel anything except for maybe an odd craving for a sandwich.

It seemed like just yesterday Dakota Fanning was annoying us to no end with her precocious little girl act in films like War of the Worlds and Man on Fire. Now she’s almost legal, co-starring in the Twilight franchise and graduating high school.

On Monday, Dakota was at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in LA for the ceremony honoring Campbell Hall’s Class of 2011. Despite pursuing a film career, Fanning successfully lived out high school stereotypes by becoming a cheerleader and winning Homecoming queen two years in a row. Rumor has it she’ll be attending NYU in the fall. Rumor also has it that her high school life was boring as hell. No rumors of free bj’s in the boys locker room? Paris Hilton would be so disappointed.

Those shrill screams you heard yesterday came from the thousands of girls at the Twilight: Eclipse premiere. Unfortunately, firefighters weren’t around to turn the hose on them. Which is too bad because a Twilight premiere is the perfect opportunity to calibrate hose pressure.

Here’s Dakota Fanning at said premiere. She’s all grown up now. It seemed like only yesterday I wanted to slit my wrists every time this precocious little girl came on screen and started talking like a 30-year-old.

Even though this shot of Dakota Fanning on the set of The Runaways is fake, I’m still extremely uncomfortable looking at this. I don’t like to think of Dakota in that way. She should be running after ice cream trucks or riding pink bicycles, not standing around having vaginal blood run down her leg.

I know Kristen Steart and Dakota Fanning are working together for vocals on The Runways. They left the studio together yesterday which is weird on its own, but what’s weirder is Kristen and Dakota went out clubbing together. What the hell? Dakota is still a precocious 9-year-old in my mind. Does not compute. Are you sure they were going to a club and not leaving a studio at night or Cold Stone? That would make more sense. I can’t even imagine Kristen going to a club. This is like watching a fish swim and then all of a sudden it starts walking on dry land and then dancing like a white girl.

Dakota Fanning has spoken out about the controversy over Hounddog. She and the head of Sundance defend the film from protesters who call it child porn. Ok, I want you to imagine these quotes being said in an annoyed and frustrated Dakota Fanning voice. The kind of voice a kid would use if you tease them too much about something you know isn’t true.

“It’s not a rape movie. That’s not even the point of the film. When it gets to the point of attacking my mother, my agent … my teacher, who were all on the set that day, that started to make me mad.”

People, people. It’s not kiddie rape porn, “it’s called acting.” Sadly, I was bored enough to listen to the video they had on the site and it sounds like she’s hitting puberty. I can’t seem to hear the full nails on chalkboard effect of her high-pitched voice anymore. Now what makes her unique? Oh right, the kiddie rape porn thing.

Dakota Fanning’s controversial Hounddog debuted at Sundance today. The movie is most widely known as the film where Dakota Fanning is raped. The Catholic League called for a federal probe this month to determine whether the film breaks child pornography laws.

In the rape scene, only Fanning’s face, neck, shoulders, hand and foot appear onscreen. Much of the rape is depicted in darkness with flashes of lightning and the sound of Lewellen screaming “stop it, stop it.”

Kampmeier told Reuters that the scene onscreen is exactly how the film was shot on a closed set with a limited crew.

“It’s important for people to remember that when you are crafting a film, you are putting images next to each other. It’s not like we had Dakota acting out the rape, we didn’t,” she said. “Dakota and I were there together.”

Fanning said the scene was blown out of proportion and preparing for it wasn’t different from anything else she’s done. What does this mean for viewers? The god awful Dakota Fanning scream will make its return. Please make it stop! AICN has a more detailed review of it if you’d like to read.

Back in July, it was reported that Dakota Fanning would go for Oscar gold in her upcoming movie Hounddog where she plays a motherless Elvis loving child of the 50′s. In an article published by Premiere magazine, more details of the movie have come out. There is still a rape scene, she promises to kiss a boy if he drops his pants, sleeps next to a naked man and forces two kids to strip and hug at gunpoint while she wraps a snake around them. But the scene causing the biggest uproar is the rape of Dakota Fanning by an older boy who tempts her with Elvis tickets. The director had this to say about it,

Exactly how I was going to film the rape scene was articulated quite specifically in the script, and her mother, her agent, and her teacher/child welfare worker were all present for the filming of the scene, which was carried out exactly as we discussed it. There was so much I had to hide [during filming]. I had to hid the fact that this girl is not naked. I had to hide the fact that there is not a boy on top of this girl having sex. One of the choices I made as a director is, I shot her face. I didn’t shoot flesh against flesh, his leg touching her leg; I shot her face because I wanted to capture a soul going through this experience, not a body. The assumption that [Dakota] was violated in order to give this performance denies her talent.

The protesters make it sound like she’s going to be raped live on camera. God it’s only pretend rape. I’d be more offended if she WASN’T raped. I think that came out wrong. No, no it didn’t. I bet Roman Polanski wishes he thought of this first.

12 year old Dakota Fanning stars in Hounddog, “a dark story of abuse, violence and Elvis Presley adulation in the rural South”. The movie calls for Dakota Fanning to be raped and appear naked or only wearing underpants in a couple of other scenes. Dakota has already filmed the rape scene and it’s said to be tasteful. If you combine rape and Dakota Fanning’s screaming, you can imagine how annoying/uncomfortable this movie might be.

“The two taboos in Hollywood are child abuse and the killing of animals,” a source close to the situation told me. “In this movie, both things happen.”

The film has said to have scared off investors because of it’s material, but Fanning’s mother and agent believe that this will garner her an Oscar Nomination. After an emergency search, they found the investors and plan to wrap up tomorrow. If I have to watch Dakota Fanning act like a precocious girl again and hear that screaming I swear I’m gonna snap. Other than that, this sounds like a pretty solid movie. I can’t really make fun of child rape so, go Dakota!?

Dakota Fanning is signed to star with Robin Wright Penn and David Morse in a not yet titled movie directed by Deborah Kampmeier.

Set in the U.S. South in 1961, the story follows this precocious young girl as she, in order to escape the abuse in her life, begins singing and dancing like Elvis Presley.

I don’t even want to know what Fanning is going to do with this one. Probably be annoying as hell again. Man On Fire really marked the beginning of her change into “that annoying kid that doesn’t shut up”. Fast forward to War Of The Worlds. How can anyone not want to strangle her because of that caustic screeching. Just thinking about it makes the anger rise.
