If there was a director born and bred for directing anti-drug PSAs, that director would be Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, The Wrestler). Ergo, it was perfect that the Meth Project commissioned him to direct four PSAs for their anti-meth campaign. The ads share the theme of “If I had asked… I wouldn’t be asking.” For example, “If I had asked, will I lose control on meth? Will meth really make you violent? Or, if I had asked, will meth make me steal from my own family? I wouldn’t be asking my brother.”

Man, these questions are confusing. Maybe get more to the point next time. Like the one ad where the kid begrudgingly lets that guy buttsex him. That did it for me. If that’s the only way I can get high then forget it. I quit.

Last Friday, Natalie Portman’s body double in Black Swan, Sarah Lane, told EW that she did most of the dancing in the movie and that studios were trying to cover it up because they wanted Natalie to look like a prodigy during Oscar season.

In a statement released through Fox Searchlight, director Darren Aronofsky scoffs at the claims and uses his fancy college boy reasoning to debunk the rumor.

Here is the reality. I had my editor count shots. There are 139 dance shots in the film. 111 are Natalie Portman untouched. 28 are her dance double Sarah Lane. If you do the math that’s 80% Natalie Portman. What about duration? The shots that feature the double are wide shots and rarely play for longer than one second. There are two complicated longer dance sequences that we used face replacement. Even so, if we were judging by time over 90% would be Natalie Portman.
And to be clear Natalie did dance on pointe in pointe shoes. If you look at the final shot of the opening prologue, which lasts 85 seconds, and was danced completely by Natalie, she exits the scene on pointe. That is completely her without any digital magic. I am responding to this to put this to rest and to defend my actor. Natalie sweated long and hard to deliver a great physical and emotional performance. And I don’t want anyone to think that’s not her they are watching. It is.”

Uh huh. You think you can throw out a bunch of numbers and percentages and everyone will believe you? Oh, look at Mr. Fancy Pants here. He knows how to add, subtract and divide. What? You think you’re better than me? Is that it?!

Hugh Jackman tells Hero Complex via Popeater that Darren Aronofsky, who’s directing the next Wolverine, said Hugh looked like a skinny dork and asked him to bulk up to be the short, stocky, powerful looking Wolverine everyone knew and loved. So that’s what Hugh’s doing by taking in 6,000 (!) calories a day. That’s almost 4 times the recommended daily intake. Jackman says he’s going for the Mike Tyson look.

“Right now, I’m at 210 [pounds],” Jackman said. “I was at 190 … and [Aronofsky] said with the last one, ‘Hey you looked great, but you’re so tall that in those long shots you looked kind of like Clint Eastwood, and that’s not Wolverine.’”

“[Aronofsky] said that Wolverine, in the comics, is powerful, stocky, you know, he’s short and thick. So he said, ‘I want you to go there, get bigger,’” Jackman said, adding that his new diet isn’t easy. “It’s 6,000 calories a day, it’s rough.”

“Sometimes [Tyson] was a full foot shorter than his opponents and bent over [with this] massive build … There’s real power,” he said, joking that this role may not be best for his health. “If I have a massive heart attack first, well, you tell everyone what I was going for.”

This is dedication. Tyler Perry or Martin Lawrence would have taken the easy way out and put on a muscle suit they had their assistants pick out from a costume shop.

Multiple reports confirm that after 9 years, director Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, The Fountain, Requiem for a Dream) and Rachel Weisz (The Mummy, The Fountain) have split.

TMZ, however, adds that the cause of it may be Daniel Craig. Sources say the two have been linked for months. They worked on Dream House in February and March of 2010.

Aronofsky is currently promoting possible Oscar contender Black Swan and Craig is in Sweden filming the American remake of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Makes sense. Who wouldn’t fall for Daniel’s chiseled body and those dreamy eyes you could get lost in for hours. Sigh. I mean, yea, bro. High five!

Jessica Biel is expensive: Jessica Biel has been auctioned off for $30,000 to benefit some girl who lost her leg on prom night after being dragged by a Hummer stretch limousine. The event itself generated $44,000. Jessica was not there in person for the auction, but she recorded a voice message promising she was a cheap date. The winner and her will meet for lunch at which point he will freak her out.

Venom makes his debut: The first images of Venom have appeared on Sony’s website. It reminds me of Star Trek which can never be a good thing.

The Fountain trailer: The Fountain trailer has finally appeared after a long time. Darren Aronofsky is still trippy, but this trailer did not kick as much ass as the teasers for 300 or Grindhouse. Sorry Darren.

TMNT trailer: The CG animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie also debuted a trailer. I am literally suprised because this looks like some kind of awesome. I have some issues about how they look, but the CG is seriously great.

Scarlett Johansson is in Dallas: Add one more name to the Dallas remake. Scarlett Johansson is signed to play Lucy Ewing. Grouping Scarlett with Jennifer Lopez and Katie Cassidy is like putting a diamond in a bucket full of semen.

Veronic Mars: Kristen Bell is prettier in person. The rest of the cast is just as genius as the show. Rob Thomas revealed that since Veronica Mars is moving to the new CW network, they need to post good ratings in order to stay on the air. Their new time slot is after the train wreck that is Gilmore Girls. If Veronica Mars isn’t able to post the same or better ratings than the Gilmore Girls, then I’m to believe that I’m in an alternate dimension called hell.
