China has put Google and other major web portals on notice. In the country’s latest efforts to lockdown material they consider “destabilizing,” such as pornography and anything criticizing the government, China has warned Google and other such sites that it needs to do more to block these nefarious materials. This will be near impossible since Google and other such sites don’t generate any content, just index it.

The announcement said Google and Baidu, China’s two most heavily used search engines, had failed to take ”efficient” measures after receiving notices from the country’s Internet watchdog that they were providing links to pornographic material.

Google asserted that it abides by Chinese law and does not generate pornographic content.

The statement also criticized popular Web portals Sina and Sohu, as well as a number of video sharing sites and popular online bulletin boards such as Tianya, that it said contain problematic photos, blogs and postings.

Coincidentally, this announcement was released on the same day photos came out of Zhang Ziyi naked at a private beach and almost a year after the whole Edison Chen scandal. But how serious is China about this campaign really? Very. Last year with the Edison Chen drama, they asked the FBI to talk with sites about it. I know this because they called me out of the blue. Of course, they admitted I wasn’t doing anything illegal and just politely talked with me about what was going on (foreign relations, blah, blah), but little did they know everything was already being flushed down the toilet. You’ll never catch me coppers!

The Edison Chen scandal has yet to die down as police have uncovered more photos of four starlets in Edison’s personal collection. For whatever reason, they gave hints as to who else was implicated in this mess. Earlier, people suspected Shu Qi, Fiona Sit, Stephy Tang and Jill Vidal as the girls. However, a recently published magazine claims to know who the women are and emphasize that if their names were to be released, Edison Chen may suffer greatly and even face death. Coolsmurf says:

Her photos are mostly taken in a hotel and has many close-ups and is quite “racy”. The photos aren’t very clear though and are likely to come from a video. Widely speculated to be Carina Lau.

This guy managed to trick a lot of stars into doing amateur porn. The closest I’ve ever gotten to filming a girl in bed was when my neighbors forgot to close their blinds. That is to say, Edison Chen may have took a plane and got the hell out of Hong Kong, but he has forever landed in my heart.

As part of their ongoing investigations, Hong Kong police discovered 1,000 new sex photos complete with videos of three new celebrities on Edison Chen’s surrendered computers. This news follows a second round of questioning in regards to the sex “scandal” that effectively killed the careers of the celebrities involved.

Gillian Chung, probably the biggest female star implicated in the mess, has been turning down job offers because of the negative criticism levied by the public. Unlike Edison’s apology, the general public didn’t think much of Gillian’s where she said she was naive and in love.

I have to assume that Kira only released the photos because it was Chinese New Year and that he/she plans to unleash another set of photos before the Olympics begin. I remain hopeful that my theory is validated and that we’ll see more scary, untrimmed bush in the near future.

Edison Chen finally made his way to Hong Kong for a much anticipated press conference. There he confirmed the authenticity of the leaked sex photos and apologized for the media chaos it caused. In a surprising move, he also promised to quit the Hong Kong entertainment industry indefinitely. Note that he only specified Hong Kong.

“Most importantly, I would like to say sorry to all the people in Hong Kong. I give my apologies sincerely to you all, unreservedly and with my heart,” he said.

He added: “I know young people in Hong Kong look up to many figures in our society. And, in this regard, I failed as a role model.”

“During my time away, I’ve made an important decision. I will wholeheartedly fulfill all commitments that I have to date. But, after that, I’ve decided to step away from the Hong Kong entertainment industry. I’ve decided to do this to give myself an opportunity to heal myself and to search my soul,” he said.

“I will be away from Hong Kong entertainment indefinitely.”

I wish this would happen in America. Like, when Paris Hilton released her sex tape, she would be shamed into hiding, eventually make a big statement about quitting showbiz, everyone would cheer and life would be good. But, no. Blowing that dude only magnified her fame. This is why I suggest we ship Paris over to Hong Kong and not poke air holes through her box.

News sites are reporting Edison Chen, now infamous for his leaked photos of naked Hong Kong celebs, also keeps video and photos of regular women like wives of rich Hong Kong businessmen and daughters of rich families. Rumor has it that he once won a bet from a director who didn’t believe he had hundreds of nude photos of starlets.

How he convinced these women to do whatever he wanted has also come to light. As you may have noticed, women like shiny things. That’s why he gave them presents like Cartier bracelets, limited edition gifts and sweet talk (the only non-shiny thing) lulling them into the false sense that they were special. After that, the girls were like putty. Kind of like they are when they discover my animal magnetism, wit and hunting knife.

On the other side of the fence, Gillian Chung isn’t enjoying Paris Hilton-like success and may be let go from her record label EEG. People have been asking for a ban on her products and if this continues, she may be gone.

Edison Chen has yet to set foot in Hong Kong. Reports are coming in that this is because the Canadian raised celebrity is currently proposing a deal with police via his lawyers for “24-hour police protection, a safe house and a guarantee of his status as a witness.” Police are open to giving him protection, but are hesitant to grant him his other demands.

Hong Kong must take their celebrities seriously because netizens have been threatening him ever since the scandal started. Various reports indicate Edison Chen may not be returning to Hong Kong on Sunday. Peter Lam, head of Edison’s record label, said Edison won’t be back until sometime next week and that reports of him holding a press conference tomorrow was only media speculation.

Many want to believe rumors that Edison won’t be back because the Triads will kill him. Albert Yeung, head of EEG and uncle to Edison’s current girlfriend who’s pictures were also leaked, allegedly has ties to the gang. Others believe it’s because Edison hopes the scandal will die down or because Kira may release more pictures and video once he returns.

Cecilia Cheung, who also had pictures leaked, is not splitting from her husband and has even quietly returned to work filming a makeup commercial.

Meanwhile, the public has called Gillian’s public statement about the pictures childish and want to make her transition back to the entertainment industry as rough as possible.

All this leads me to believe Hong Kong is backwards. Triads putting a hit out on a guy because of sex pictures? I could understand if some guy forced them to watch 2Girls1Cup, but an uproar over blowjobs? The only outcry that should be going on is one to make waxing kits, razors or, in this case, weed whackers more easily accessible for women.

Two new pictures were leaked today in the ongoing Edison Chen scandal. One featuring Bobo Chan and another of Rache Ngan (?). These may give hope to people waiting for the release of the source video as it may indicate Kira was not paid 1.3 million USD to go away. As the scandal continues into its third week, Edison will return to Hong Kong on Sunday to give a formal statement about someone stealing pictures from his computer. He may have to testify. Reports also say Nicholas Tse and Cecilia Cheung are seperating and will divorce as a result of these pictures which were seemingly taken right before their marriage.

One has to wonder. Is a life of shame and embarrassment the fate that befalls all women who don’t wax, shave or trim? The answer, I believe, is a resounding “yes”.

The curtain has dropped: According to friends in HK, all the photos we have seen thus far were screen captures from videos. Gill’s photos were the first 10 minutes of the video, why? Because it was a used as a bargaining chip for extortion. Secondly, the audio of the video involves the reputation of many other big-name celebrities.
Gaoqing (who?) has over 1000 photos alone, and they were partially released last year. The first time Edison’s photo got released was the result of a hacker. This hacker has the most complete data. In order to protect himself from hackers and trojans, he transferred part of his data to his Apple computer. Apple does not run Windows, and most trojan are designed towards windows. The photos that were stolen during his computer repair is only a small part, and that is to the person we come to know as Kira. Photos of Vincy Yeung released on the 9th was unexpected from EEG Music. As we know, Edison’s photo all came in a set, and every women has a complete collection including the sexual parts. Usually they are released in few numbers first, then released in completion. So Vincy has a complete collection too.

Kira’s upload on the 9th, 4:45 is the last upload from Kira. He had an agreement with EEG in the amount of 700 hk dollars. Why did Gill’s manager said Gill would appear on the 11th? Because they have came to an agreement with Kira. After the money is received he needs 24 hours to confirm payment, also time for him to flee. As a matter of fact, the photos he has have already been uploaded to various free servers in the United States and Europe. If the discussion does not fall into place or if anything were to happen to him, he has set automatic emails that would email the links to his trustworthy friends, so they can spread the files. What’s Kira’s gain for showing us the photos? What does he get by destroying the life of these celebrities? He is not a warrior of morals, he’s just a regular Hong Kong citizen. Money is his ultimate choice. So everyone, please stop calling for him, he has disappears forever. From tomorrow, there’s a lot more entertainers going to entertain us, and the danger is over. The photos actually were stolen a long time ago. At first Kira talked to Edison, asking for 5 million HK dollars, but was not agreed upon. Edison was afraid he won’t be able to get back all the photos. He looked for Yeung Shou Cheng (EEG’s president) to help him on the matter. Eventually, Kira released some information to the media, the magazines last year briefly mentioned this matter. However because of EEG’s influential power, magazines were afraid to show the photos nor pay Kira. Through the help of magazine’s editor, one of the three members from Kira’s group was found. He knew whether he surrender the photos or not, he was doomed. He did not say anything while being question, and was eventually killed. The other two then fled to Southeast Asia, and again try to distort EEG and Edison. Befor the matter gains public attention Edison already knew, because both parties could not agree on a price, this time Kira was asking more than 10 millions. Edison took a private car to Shenzhen, then to Macau, took a private plane from his dad’s friend to the United States, and look for Vincy Yeung to help his cause. Yeung Shou Cheng thought he could handle the matter, but eventually it was still not solved. Kira has decided to raise the price, and released the photos the night when Edison fled HK. Since that day Kira has been raising his price every day. It is believed Kira is in Thailand and Indonesia, and Kira is a group of two, and the data has been uploaded to the United States.
Do not think you have seen the best of all, why hasn’t C10’s and Maggie Q’s photo being released? Because Kira hasn’t gotten the right price, or because of safety reason, there isn’t a safe way for him to get paid.
Right now, both parties are fighting. The involvement of HK police has propelled this tension to its maximum. Either Thursday or Friday, Edison Chen is expected to return to Hong Kong for the first time since his pictures leaked. Edison is said to be coming back to help police catch the “crazy man” releasing the photos. Gillian Chung also returned to work and ignored questions from the press. Kira, the man or men responsible for leaking the photos, has remained silent for the past couple of days. His inactivity and the fact that Gillian was smiling at her press conference has led people to believe EEG, Gillian’s record company, or someone else has paid him off. Cecilia and Nicholas have split as a result of the photos which showed Cecilia still sleeping around with Edison while they were together.

If you’ve been following this thing at all, you’ll know this Edison Chen thing has gone on for two weeks or so. Gillian Chung finally made her first public appearance today telling everybody that she was naive and foolish. Meanwhile, Hong Kong police say they’ve captured a ninth suspect. Apparently, Hong Kong police are a lot like the LAPD because they can’t get anything right. Even as the ninth suspect remains in custody, the oft sought after pictures of Maggie Q are being slowly released. This message was posted before Gillian made her appearance.

Today is the day when Gill will meet the fans for the first time after the scandal. I wanted to release her vid at the same time. However, due to a certain reason, I was not able to. Now I decide to release 3 vids at 3:00 am. The content are 1. the original video of the pre-released photos, and 2. some new materials that haven’t been shown in the photos before.

The Maggie Q pictures seem genuine and the picture kind of confirms it’s from Edison Chen’s collection. [Correction: See below] Other rumors circulating are that even Jackie Chan plays some sort of role in the leaked video tapes. Police may be trying to downplay this because Jackie is doing the torch passing ceremony at the Beijing Olympics. Which brings me to my point. Jackie Chan is awesome. After remaining silent for Chinese New Year, the anime loving “Kira” released new sets of pictures featuring more of Hong Kong’s favorite stars Gillian Chung and Cecilia Cheung (people say she’s the equivalent of Lindsay Lohan over there). A Maggie Q sex tape was rumored to have been posted on a large forum, but was quickly taken off by forum moderators. Batgwa.com suggests a showbiz insider is spreading these pictures since an individual emailed them pictures to one of their addresses that was never publicly published and was only used for media contacts.

“We are incredibly curious to know who sent us this message. The email address it was sent to has never been listed on the ‘Contact Us’ or ‘About Us’ pages of our website. It has only ever been given to music and film companies for them to send us press material. And we have only ever used it to send out press releases to other media outlets such as newspapers.”

Even CNN reported on the scandal sweeping a nation. In any case, Edison Chen is in hiding as is Gillian Chung. Bobo Chan’s wedding has been called off at the behest of her fiance’s mom or grandma. Edison has also been dropped from Stephen Chow’s movie, Jump. I don’t know why the media is chastising Edison for this. Over here in America, when an actor tapes himself screwing the biggest celebrities in the country, every guy he meets on the street will give him a jumping high-five and every girl he filmed will get even more movie deals and record contracts.

It’s a PR disaster. They should not have claimed that the photos were faked in the first place. That drew a bunch of Photoshop experts to the scene and delivered crash courses on Photoshop techniques. Not to mention an even bigger audience who came for more earthly purposes than to learn Photoshop 101.

They should not have cried bloody murder in such high pitch to attract police attention. You know, police in HK are so servile these days. So they made arrests like crazy, and their false interpretation of the laws muddled the distinction between “crime and sin” which ended up attracting even more people to speculate on the what, who, when, where, and how.

You have to take a look at the sheepish smiles of the police spokesman when he clarified that sending those pics to your friends is okay, but not to the public…(Aside: so those asking for their mailbox be filled may be setting traps for you.) and that there are thousands of those pics, not just a handful.

That kicked off the witch hunt for the rest of the pics — precisely why most of us are gathering here day in and day out.

Pity that the HK police had to pull up the Interpol stunt which failed to ward off the crowd anyway.

The updated uploads are probably due more to making protests to the police’s actions than to serve the public’s interest in this matter. If the photos were taken from EDC’s hard disk back in 2006, there is high chance they’ve been spreaded around for some time already. So there’s no surprise that people more knowledgeable in Internet hide-and-seek will come up to challenge the HK police.

BTW, EDC was using a Mac — running an OS with much acclaim of its security — yet won’t stand a chance with a clean boot CD to reset the admin’s password. Probably the word “encryption” is beyond EDC’s English standard, and the product “truecrypt” escapes his technical radar screen, if any.

It’s a good PR lesson. Usually PR disaster were due to doing too little too late, with an intention to hush up. Yet this saga is totally the opposite — people are doing too much too soon and in such a loud voice too.

So, what have we learned? If you’re going to make sex tapes of your girlfriends, be sure to use True Crypt 5.0 and if they’re leaked, run as fast and as far away as possible. Also, make sure you trim your bush. That part is probably the most important.

Edison Chen has responded to one of China’s biggest scandals in the past few years. Photos and videos were supposedly leaked to the public after he sent his phone and laptop in for repairs. The phtoos and videos feature big name Asian stars including Gillian Chung, Bobo Chan, Cecilia Cheung, Maggie Q and Jolin Tsai in various states of undress and fornication. In his first response since the scandal, he urges people to destroy the nude photos via a video message sent through his lawyers, Edison says,

“I’ve decided to break my silence today and make this statement to the media and to all people involved in this strange ordeal. Recent documents being posted online have been intentionally hurtful and malicious not only to the victims but to our whole community.

“I have already handed matters over to the police and have been assisting them with this case from the first day onwards. Due to ongoing investigations, I am unable to comment any further upon this case.

“The lives of many innocent people have been affected by this malicious and criminal conduct, and in this regard I am filled with pain, hurt and frustration.

“I hereby use this opportunity to apologize to anyone who has been affected by this strange, strange ordeal [Ed. note: Huh?!].

“I now call upon everyone to help and assist the victims of this case. If you have ever downloaded any of these images, please do not forward them to anyone. Please do not send them to anyone. If you are still in possession of these images, I urge you to please destroy them immediately. Let’s help the wounded heal their wounds. I urge you to help the victims and not make anything worse.”
