Last we saw of Taylor Momsen she was still dressing like a scorned thrift store goth and complaining about how her parents robbed her of a childhood. Before that she was flashing her nipples and talking about vibrators. Project Runway’s Tim Gunn even called her a diva and said she was pathetic and couldn’t even remember what little lines she had. He then questioned why everyone was being held hostage by “this brat.”

Seems the CW agrees with Gunn’s sentiments and have suspended Taylor Momsen from Gossip Girl indefinitely. Not that big of a deal as Taylor has appeared in only three episodes this season. Reps for CW and WB wouldn’t comment but sources tell Deadline she’ll be gone for at least four episodes starting with the mid-season finale on Dec. 6.

Perfect. This gives Taylor more time to spiral her life out of control. First it’s diva behavior, then it’s nipple tape, then it’s marijuana and then it’s an uncontrollable coke habit. The CW network is a gateway drug.

In two unrelated items no less.

First up, Meghan McCain wants Hilary Duff to play her in a movie. She’s quoted as saying, “I think she’s really hot — hotter than me — but I’d still want her to play me.” No arguments here. She also wants Bradley Cooper to be in it because he’s “so hot.”

All this brouhaha over Meghan because she has a book being released next spring. Meghan describes her sort of memoir as “Primary Colors” meets Tori Spelling’s “Tori Telling.” A pretty lofty goal since Meghan is only 24 and hasn’t even flashed her vagina. Not even D-List!

In other Duff news, she’s joining Gossip Girl next season. Not just as a one-off guest star either. She’s going to be given a multi-episode arc starting in the fourth episode.

The actress-designer-pop chanteuse will play Olivia Burke, a movie star who enrolls at NYU in search of a traditional college experience. She ends up rooming with Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) so it’s safe to say she’ll be majoring in Drama!

This is going to be great. Hilary Duff can’t act. She’ll barely be able to play herself. She’ll frustrate the director so much that when he finally breaks down and tells her to say what she would normally say in that type of situation, Hilary will just stare into the camera for ten minutes looking like she just farted but doesn’t want anyone to know it was her.

Deadline Hollywood reports that the curiously anticipated Gossip Girl spinoff is dead in the water. Next Monday’s episode of Gossip Girl is a flashback to the teen years of Lily van der Woodsen (Brittany Snow) which was to drum up interest in the new series set in the 80′s. However, interest in the show rapidly declined, dropping from high to, meh, to no one wants to watch this crap. Now poor Brittany Snow has to find another job or turn to prostitution like my many letters have suggested.

A young Lily van der Woodsen will be the main focus on the Gossip Girl spin-off. A pilot for the show set to air May 11 will masquerade as a Gossip Girl episode. The new series will center around Lily van der Woodsen aka Lily Rhodes in 1980′s L.A. Variety describes:

In the new project, which is based on an original idea by Schwartz and Savage, Lily moves in with her sister, the black sheep of the family, after a falling out with her parents. In the process, she must adjust to living in the San Fernando Valley (during the height of the Valley Girl craze) and going to public school, having previously attended a wealthy Montecito boarding school.

The spinoff will center much of its action on the Sunset Strip (which was in the midst of its own heavy metal, hairband era) and Hollywood, where Lily discovers a world of wealth and excess.

I hope Lily goes into porn. And there has to be A LOT of annoying Valley Girl speak. Throw in some references to Bill & Ted, John Hughes movies, big hair and any other cliche from the 80′s and I think we’ll have a winner. Or at the very least, something the current Gossip Girl demographic can’t relate to at all.

CW’s breakout new show Gossip Girl, The O.C. in New York, has drama on set as well as off. In news that will surely intrigue all the 15-year-olds out there, sidekick Nan Zhang has been written off. Series creator Josh Schwartz, also responsible for The O.C., says “Zhang enrolled in Brown University during the writers’ strike and ‘didn’t tell anyone on the show.’” However, insiders say Zhang was “pushed off the show” because Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester didn’t like her. NYDN says,

The appearance of a new Asian actress on the set last week suggested that Zhang may have been replaced. But another insider says the Kati character has been written out.

“Jenny [played by Taylor Momsen] has a new group of random bitchy girls as friends,” said the source, explaining why Kati’s close pal Isabel (played by Nicole Fiscella) remains in the picture.

Says the show’s rep: “I think [Zhang] may have had another opportunity come up, but I know she was big into school. She was really sweet, but she went back to school.”

Wow, fascinating. So… um… does this officially mark the 2 week countdown to the new episodes? And is there going to be a nude J-e-l-l-o wrestling competition between Leighton Meester and Nan Zhang to settle their differences? If so, will the blond chick join in at some point?
