Heroes canceled – NBC decided to cancel their once hugely successful show last week. They were leaning towards renewing it for a final fifth wrap-up season, but they’re confident in their new line-up of shows. Also, Heroes sucks now. It was like they hired a bunch of 10-year-olds to write the story. “It would be cool if this and this happened. Then the guy did this “pew pew pew” and then it went ‘kablooey’ and then he came back to life! So cooool!” NBC may air a two or four hour movie to wrap up the series.

Ronnie James Dio died – Legendary heavy metal singer and Ozzy Ozbourne’s replacement for Black Sabbath died on Sunday. He was 67. Dio suffered from stomach cancer. Curse you stomach cancer. Don’t think you won’t pay!

Lady Gaga is fabulous – Last week Lady Gaga dressed like a bedazzled Hannibal Lecter and used a boy’s head as a writing surface. That boy must feel so honored. Is that the word I’m looking for? Honored? Oh wait, I mean terrified. Run little kid! She’s going to eat your face.

Ah, confused young co-eds. The basic premise for 80% of pornos and declining tv series in need of a stunt to pull in more viewers. Two days ago, there was that screen cap of Hayden Panettiere making out with Madeline Zima on a very special episode of Heroes. Today there’s video. Sweet, delicious, leaked video. Arguably, it’s not that hot or that controversial. Unless you’re network tv, in which case, you’d be spitting out your coffee and shaking your jowls side to side right about now sighing, “Youth today!” Because that’s how I picture network tv. As a cantankerous middle-aged fat man with a bad comb-over who’s out of touch with the times.

Fresh off her nude, but not really nude, scene in I Love You Beth Cooper, execs are developing a lesbian story line for Hayden Panettiere’s character on Heroes. Suffice to say, Claire Bennet will be going through the typical experimental college years where she turns Rastafarian for a few episodes and then starts getting into chicks. But only when she’s at a party with a lot of guys watching or promised a free t-shirt.

“It’s just girlie fun at first. But it might progress into something more serious. It depends on how viewers respond.”

Considering 90% of the people who watch Heroes are sexually frustrated males, I think it’s safe to say it’s going to get really serious, really fast. In fact, if Hayden doesn’t have a full on sex scene with another girl, expect outrage. From Ted83. On the Heroes forums.

The Heroes cast was in Germany or at an early Halloween party doing promos for the show and Hayden Panettiere dressed up as a cleavage-y barmaid. I think the Milo guy noticed because he puckered up like he wanted to latch onto her nipples and forcibly suck out all the milk Hayden isn’t producing.

Kevin Smith has been tapped to direct an episode of the Heroes spin-off series Heroes: Origins. The show will run during the idiotic long break during mid-season and will depict how certain people’s newfound powers affect those around them. Expect a couple obscure references to fanboy movies, explanations as to why it’s impossible for a certain hero to have sex, at least one donkey show and constant beeping of expletives as you stare glassy eyed into the tv.

Heroes is one of the top series this season and Monday’s episode was another reason why. If you’re waiting for more reasons to watch, I can give you a couple. First, Hayden Panettiere is in it which is cool because I can barely figure out how to spell her last name. Second, Hayden Panettiere likes “the shocker” and any cute girl who loves “the shocker” is more than deserving of my attention. And that’s something I don’t just hand out like candy. I mean, it’s a pretty important fact…oh look, pretty birdie. Where was I? Oh yea, most…erotic…autopsy…ever.

Heroes is a new NBC show premiering in the fall.

They thought they were like everyone else… until they woke with incredible abilities. In Japan, a lowly office worker can teleport at will. In New York, a struggling artist can paint the future. In Los Angeles, a discontented beat cop can hear the thoughts of others. Elsewhere, a high school cheerleader discovers she is unbreakable and a single mom realizes she has a powerful alter ego. Heroes chronicles the lives of these people and the lives of others like them, whose destiny just might be saving humankind.

A long summary that I didn’t write myself because it would have been too interesting. In short, this sounds like one of the shows to keep an eye on. Even the 4 minute preview here is interesting.
