Isaiah Washington continues to adamantly defend his on-set scuffle with Patrick Dempsey where he called T.R. Knight a “faggot” and is obviously very bitter about ABC firing him. In an interview with Newsweek, Isaiah regrets what happened, but also insists race was a factor in his firing. He says the reason he was let go is due to the fact he’s a 6’1” black man who isn’t a “mush-mouth negro” and doesn’t talk like he just got off the plantation.

The actor, who is traveling to Ghana next week with Jamie Foxx, Chris Tucker and Forest Whitaker to recognize the end of slavery there 200 years ago, also feels that race played a part in his public flogging and eventual firing. “Well, it didn’t help me on the set that I was a black man who wasn’t a mush-mouth Negro walking around with his head in his hands all the time. I didn’t speak like I’d just left the plantation and that can be a problem for people sometime,” he says. “I had a person in human resources tell me after this thing played out that ‘some people’ were afraid of me around the studio. I asked her why, because I’m a 6-foot-1, black man with dark skin and who doesn’t go around saying ‘Yessah, massa sir’ and ‘No sir, massa’ to everyone? It’s nuts when your presence alone can just scare people, and that made me a prime candidate to take the heat in a dysfunctional family.’’

Isaiah took a page out of my play book. A while ago, I said he should use the “It’s because I’m black defense.” I’m glad someone is listening out there. Although, I don’t know why he got so creative. If a 6-foot-1 black man came up to me and started saying “Yessah, massa sir” and “No sir, massa,” I’d be pretty scared. I’d think he was being really sarcastic because I said something offensive and now he was about to beat my ass and that would be bad. To quote Quinton Jackson, “Have you ever been beaten by a black man before? It hurts.”

Isaiah Washington was told his character would not be returning to Grey’s Anatomy a couple weeks back. At first he was mad, but now insists “they fired the wrong guy.” Isaiah says while it’s true he called T.R. Knight a “faggot”, it is Knight who should have been fired. Us Magazine explains,

In a telephone interview with the Houston Chronicle, Washington claims that it was Knight who propagated the idea that the slur was targeted at him and created a negative work environment.

Washington also told the Chronicle that he believes Knight, 34, likely wanted a salary increase and a more substantive role for his character.

Knight, who acknowledged that he was gay after the incident, later said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Washington used the epithet against him. “Everyone (on the set) heard it,” he said.

“That’s a lie,” says Washington, a Houston native. “I used the word during a disagreement with Patrick. I apologized for that. We shook hands and went back to work.”

Those gays are sly ones I tell ya. One time a guy told me he’d gladly pay me Tuesday for a hamburger today and I fell for it. Turns out he was gay. Connection? I think so.

Isaiah Washington’s rep Howard Bragman has confirmed Grey’s Anatomy creator, Shonda Rhimes, called Isaiah and basically fired him. A source says Washington’s behavior made him a liability. Shortly after, Howard released this statement from Isaiah.

“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it any more.”

See, right here. If I was Howard Bragman, I would issue the “It’s because he’s black, isn’t it,” statement. She’ll probably say that that wasn’t the reason at all and it was because my client called that kid a “faggot” and then brought it up again at an awards show. But, that’s where my experience comes into play. I would merely reply, “And it’s also a little bit because he’s black, isn’t it? Admit it.” Whereupon I’d give her a pink belly until she admits it.

Isaiah Washington has gone to rehab to save his job and hopefully figure out why he’s a bigot. This stems from the incident at the Golden Globes where he denied calling T.R. Knight a “faggot” even though he did.

“ABC has told him he must enter a program to examine why he would say such hateful words,” the insider says.

Isaiah Washington went into rehab for…bigotry. Great. Is this some sort of niche science or just a fancy name for a shrink so ABC can start the “healing process” and increase their market share for Grey’s Anatomy. Ohhh, it’s just sooo exciting! Isaiah Washington has apologized for once again calling T.R. Knight a faggot. At a backstage interview at the Golden Globes, he denied ever having caled T.R. a “faggot” using the same word that got him in trouble the first time around. ABC issued this statement after the incident,

We are greatly dismayed that Mr. Washington chose to use such inappropriate language at the Golden Globes, language that he himself deemed `unfortunate’ in his previous public apology,” the network said in a statement. His actions are unacceptable and are being addressed.

At the risk of being fired, Isaiah has once again issued an apology in hopes of saving his own ass.

I apologize to T.R., my colleagues, the fans of the show and especially the lesbian and gay community for using a word that is unacceptable in any context or circumstance. I marred what should have been a perfect night for everyone who works on `Grey’s Anatomy.’ I can neither defend nor explain my behavior. I can also no longer deny to myself that there are issues I obviously need to examine within my own soul, and I’ve asked for help.

I don’t think people are going to be quite so forgiving a second time. It’s like if I called your mom a whore and then I said sorry bro, just kidding. Then I called your mom a whore again and you got all pissy, but I said just kidding. Then I kept doing it and I stopped saying just kidding. You’d just have to take it because I’m the alpha male. The point I’m trying to make is Katherine Heigl is on Grey’s Anatomy and she has huge bazongas.

Isaiah Washington has apologized following news of him referring to T.R. Knight as a “little faggot.”

“I sincerely regret my actions and the unfortunate use of words during the recent incident on-set,” Washington, 43, says in the statement. “Both are beneath my own personal standards. … I have nothing but respect for my coworkers … and have apologized personally to everyone involved.”

T.R. Knight revealed he was gay after the incident to “quiet any unnecessary rumors.” Rumors like he’s gay which he is because he just came out. News from the set is all is going well and T.R. Knight will not be killed off. Well great, he apologized. Now we can pretend it never happened because if I hear anymore about this I will kick a kitten. Don’t make me kick a kitten.

T.R. Knight confirms he’s gay. Considering I don’t watch Grey’s Anatomy, I couldn’t care less. This news comes after National Enquirer’s report that Isaiah Washington called someone on the set a “faggot.” Which was also after the fight between Patrick Dempsey and Isaiah. All this sounds more interesting than the actual show.
