Britney Spears’ dad, Jamie, has held conservatorship over her for the past four years meaning Britney hasn’t been able to make any decision in regards to her finances or overall well-being without getting his okay. The court basically told Jamie to be a parent all over again. But in a sign that their wedding may be imminent, Jamie is asking the court to add Jason Trawick as co-conservator. Jason will only have control over her well-being (food, clothing and medical care) and not her finances if it goes through.

“This is a very unusual situation, because generally you don’t see conservatees get married,” says Jeffrey S. Cohen, an L.A. probate attorney not involved with the case. “This could be a sign that the couple’s wedding is around the corner.”

Adds Cohen: “This is probably a compromise between Britney, her father and Trawick to get the marriage off on the right foot. Obviously, her future husband needs to have a say in her well being.” PEOPLE

Where one marriage fails, another one begins. Proving the rumors true, Britney Spears and Jason Trawick got engaged last week at his 40th birthday party at Planet Hollywood.

Spears, donning a short, nude Herve Leger dress, stepped out a few hours later and revealed her highly-anticipated Neil Lane sparkler during a congratulatory welcome on the hotel’s mezzanine. Planet Hollywood Chairman Robert Earl presented Trawick with an oversized birthday cake in a quick ceremony.

“She wanted it to be quick because her kids where upstairs and she wanted to put them to bed,” a source told PEOPLE.

Following the celebration, the duo stopped in at Sugar Factory’s Chocolate Lounge where they shared a turkey burger and a club sandwich in a room closed off to the public to give the couple privacy. According to multiple sources, Britney Spears is getting engaged to Jason Trawick tonight. In Las Vegas. And Britney already knows. Wait, wouldn’t that mean they’re already engaged if Britney knows? Being a celebrity with a conservatorship is so confusing.

Sources say Britney’s conservators have given their stamp of approval. The matter will go before the judge in the conservatorship case but it’s virtually certain Brit will get the judge’s sign off.

If I didn’t know who Britney was and didn’t know she bastes turkeys with $100 bills, this would be a red flag. It’s almost never a good sign when you ask a girl to marry you and she says she first has to make sure the courts deem her mentally fit to say yes.

Rumor has it that Jason Trawick, Britney Spears’ new piece, is planning on proposing to her in the near future. He’s been spotted shopping for rings at several celebrity jewelers including Tiffany and Harry Winston looking for the perfect rock that would go around Britney’s pudgy little fingers.

An insider tells Radar, “Don’t expect anything too massive or obnoxious. Star and Radar are sticking to their story that Britney Spears’ boyfriend, Jason Trawick, beat on her and that Britney called long ago ex Jason Alexander to talk about it.

In fact, they even had Jason Alexander take a polygraph test, allegedly, which he passed, allegedly. Since there’s no video or methodology presented, you’ll just have to take their word for it.

Anyway, Radar released another alleged recording of Britney calling Alexander. This time she confesses to smoking weed and wanting to strangle Trawick but the woman on the other end still doesn’t sound like Britney. Needs more, “y’alls.”

On the new tape, Britney’s ex husband Jason Alexander also confesses to smoking dope and says: “You know I got the best pot in California if you really want to smoke.”

In the new tape release by Star Alexander is told about her jealousy over her boyfriend and another woman. She details how she woke up at 7 and almost left a nasty message on Facebook but smoked a joint and went back to bed!

Britney Spears has denied allegations that boyfriend Jason Trawick beat her. A rep for Britney says that the tape that was leaked by Jason Alexander is “so obviously fake as to be laughable.” Her rep says they informed Star the tapes were obviously fake and slam the irresponsibility of the tabloids in a just released statement.

“Suffice it to say, Jason Trawick has never laid a hand on Britney. This is just another example of the irresponsible nature of the tabloid media relying on shoddy sources and false information for the sole purpose of selling magazines, without regard to the truth and without regard to who they hurt in the process.”

“The statements attributed to Jason Alexander are completely fabrication as Britney has not had any form of communication with Mr. Alexander in years. These irresponsible statements are defamatory and Britney Spears’ legal team will be taking legal action against all of the appropriate parties.”

Jason, upon realizing his intelligence was insulted and his credibility ruined, ran over to the computer to issue his own statement but tripped over a chair. And then a laugh track played in the background while he clutched his knee in pain and rolled around on the ground.

Honestly, who takes this guy seriously. I’d believe claims that Paris Hilton doesn’t have a STD over anything that comes out of Jason’s mouth.

Jason Alexander, Britney Spears’ husband of five hours, tells Star that Britney called him in a frenzy claiming her current boyfriend, Jason Trawick, beat her and gave her a black eye.

“Britney is in an abusive relationship,” the entertainer’s first husband says in a detailed interview with Star. “She told me her life had turned into a nightmare.”

Childhood friends Britney and Alexander stayed in touch after their 55-hour marriage was annulled in 2004. But their casual texts, phone calls and emails took a dark turn when she recently confided that Trawick “hit her so hard it gave her a black eye,” Alexander says.

Britney Spears took her less ratty than usual extensions and her boyfriend Jason Trawick to a beach in Hawaii yesterday. She doesn’t look as fat as I thought she would. I guess that’s a compliment? I mean, Bear Grylls would still walk the other way if he saw her footprints in the sand but he wouldn’t run.

Back to eating fro-yo (that’s what the cool kids call it). Britney Spears hit up Menchie’s frozen yogurt in Calabasas with Jason Trawick on Monday. Fame Pictures suggests there’s relationship trouble between Britney and Jason because of her smeared makeup and the fact that Jason is standing so far away. On the other hand, PEOPLE says she was in an upbeat mood serving herself a large cup of coffee-flavored frozen yogurt. As is expected I guess.

I’m more inclined to believe PEOPLE because it satisfies the mathematical equation I always use to deduce Britney’s mood. It goes: Britney + sweets = happy. Her mascara was clearly smeared from tears of joy. Now, if it satisfied my other equation: Britney – sweets = unhappy, then I’d lean more towards Fame’s claims.

A couple days ago there was a rumor that Britney Spears and Jason Trawick broke up. Looks like no one bothered to tell them because they still seemed very much together.

The two went shopping together Wednesday in LA where Britney bought a tiara surprisingly not made of chocolate. Or was it? Dun dun dun!

Britney Spears has been leading a relatively quiet life ever since she and Jason Trawick started dating. Now, a year later, they’ve broken up so watch out buffet lines. Fatty a comin’ through.

The 28-year-old pop princess and her talent-agent boyfriend Jason Trawick called it quits at the end of February after about a year of dating, a source exclusively tells E! News.

“They were fighting a lot and have not been getting along,” the source says.

William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, where Trawick plies his trade, confirmed Tuesday that the 38-year-old agent is still representing Spears. A rep for the blond-again Circus star has not yet responded to a request for comment.

Hopefully Britney finds someone to occupy her time real soon. It seems like whenever she’s not with someone she’s stuffing her face with a 10×10 from In-N-Out. Britney calls that comfort food.
