Lindsay Lohan was in search for the perfect actor to play Richard Burton opposite her Elizabeth Taylor. She wanted an A-lister and to fly to London to find her Dick. Everyone knew that wasn’t going to happen so the studio patted her on the head and picked one for her instead. They ended up choosing Australian actor Grant Bowler (True Blood). The deal was sealed after he read with Lohan at the network. “The chemistry erupted in the room, said executive producer Larry A. Thompson.

The casting comes only 10 days before Liz & Dick is scheduled to begin filming — on June 4 — after the movie’s executive producer Larry A. Thompson and Lifetime had auditioned “many actors on just about any continent,” Thompson said. He noted that the hope was to try and find an actor who, like Burton, is Welsh, but New Zealander Bowler wowed them with his tape. “Grant will add gravitas to our couple and bring to life one of the greatest actors who has ever lived,” Thompson said. “Burton was a Welsh poet, a rascal, and a man’s man, who swept Elizabeth Taylor off her feet and flew her so close to the sun that they both exploded into stardust that still lights up Hollywood.”

Wow. That description of Liz and Dick’s relationship started off really manly then got really gay at the end. Not unlike every one of John Travolta’s massages.

It’s beginning to sound like Lindsay Lohan still doesn’t realize she’s in a Lifetime movie which is a big step down from those big budget Disney movies she used to be in. She’s under the assumption she’s a big star and is making ridiculous demands about who should be cast opposite her in the role of Richard Burton in the Elizabeth Taylor biopic.

Currently, the role of Burton has come down to three virtual unknowns in Matthew Settle, Sean Maguire and Craig Robert Young. Seems like none of them are good enough for Lindsay as she’s demanding to go to London to look for a Burton there. It’s a clever ruse to squeeze a free trip to the UK.

“Lindsay declared that none of the actors were the right fit and that she wanted to go to London to look for a possible Burton actor there,” a production insider tells RadarOnline.com. “Lindsay is being an absolute nightmare about who should play Burton. She believes Matthew Settle is too old to play the role, and she wants a major A-list star to be her co-star. However, her salary for the role took up a major portion of the budget, and the Burton gig will likely only pay $200k, max. The producers don’t need to get Lindsay’s approval of who will play Richard Burton, but they want to keep her happy.” Radar

Lindsay wan’ts an A-lister? She does realize “major A-list stars” are busy filming big studio movies and wouldn’t be caught dead shooting with Lindsay on Lifetime. The only way she’s going to get a major A-lister on set is if they got lost and wandered onto the wrong lot.

A&E held their up fronts yesterday and guess who showed up looking the most haggard? Ding ding ding. Lindsay Lohan. It looked like she only bronzed part of her face. Her forehead looked like a photoshop gradient going from orange to brown to white. I’m guessing her exact words after getting this done was, “What have you done to me? I’m a monster!”

Lindsay Lohan trumpeted that she was a changed woman during her final probation hearing. The judge even commended and recommended she stay away from the clubs. Guess if Lindsay followed her advice.

Lohan attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner with her lawyer, Shawn Holley, but passed on drinks at the dinner and the celeb-filled bashes. But Sunday, she was ready to get back to her usual self and headed back to New York, and was spotted at Goldbar’s “Funday” party without her lawyer but with two male friends. Spies saw her repeatedly popping her head into the DJ booth to request songs from DJ Theory. Lohan — seen clutching an unidentifiable drink with a lime — hung out until 5 a.m., well after Russell Simmons and DJ Cassidy had already gone home. Page Six

The only thing changed about Lindsay is now you have to take her out on a date to sleep with her instead of just giving her a line in the bathroom.

Despite missing her 1pm flight to DC, Lindsay Lohan still managed to make it, along with Kim Kardashian, to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner as guests of FOX News, whose goal of the evening was “cheapen everything.”

Kim and Lindsay joined George Clooney, Steven Spielberg, Sofia Vergara and other guests in listening to Obama’s opening monologue which was great because it threw a jab at Kim. He still doesn’t know why she’s famous.

George Clooney raised some eyebrows showing up without Stacy Keibler who had been tweeting about it the whole week. Clooney said she couldn’t make it because she was working explaining Stacy just landed a pilot for a TV show.

Anyway, the dinner could be considered a success for Lindsay since she managed not to make a complete ass of herself. There were 10 to 1 odds that she’d confuse Obama for a dealer and ask if he was holding.

In the least surprising news of the day, Lindsay Lohan missed her 1PM flight from LAX to DC for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. While Lindsay couldn’t get her act together due to maybe being out late last night, her lawyer, Shawn Holley, and George Clooney both did.

Lindsay plans on taking a later flight. One that doesn’t involve her waking up so early at 1 PM.

I linked to this story in the linkouts but felt that more people needed to see how Lindsay Lohan hasn’t changed at all. A few days ago Glee’s Chris Colfer sort of raved to Celebuzz about Lindsay’s guest appearance on Glee. Everything seemed to be going great. That is until today.

Reports are surfacing that Lindsay was three hours late for her second day on the Glee set after a night of partying. She was so late production had to send a car to the Chateau Marmont to pick her up and bring her there. Currently, there is no other job in the world that would send a car to your house to pick you up if you were late for work so in a way they’re simply enabling Lindsay.

“Lindsay was a total nightmare yesterday,” says one (clearly less than thrilled) source on the Glee set. “She was three hours late in the morning, and when she did finally arrive, she just didn’t want to be there. She did not want to work. She had not memorized her lines, and she kept disappearing so no one could find her.” E!

Lindsay has even earned the nickname “That Girl” which has resulted in a few staffers becoming “less than thrilled” by how she’s acting. “She has rubbed them all up the wrong way by being so disrespectful of everyone else’s schedule.” Granted, this should have been expected when they were told Lindsay was making a guest appearance. Even so, Lindsay isn’t even playing a character on the show. She’s playing herself. The least she could do was memorize a few lines. I bet it wasn’t even a line. I bet they just told her to say “yes” and she spent the next 15 minutes saying “no” because “she didn’t feel the energy,” all the while the crew had to remind her this was Glee which isn’t a reality show like American Idol.

Of course, Lindsay’s ever optimistic rep Steve Honig denies the story saying her tardiness was the result of a “misunderstanding about her call time.”

“The production team came to us and said that they wanted to start [with Lindsay] right after lunch, which was at 2. They wanted to begin with Lindsay at 3, so that meant she had a lot of time where she wasn’t doing anything. That’s why people didn’t see her. She was then in hair and makeup and began after lunch at 3.”

“If there was a problem yesterday, I would have just said ‘no comment,’ however I can’t ignore this because this is utter B.S. This is a classic example of people trying to bash Lindsay. She busted her ass yesterday and is back on set again today.”

Simply put, if you ever get tired of making excuses for yourself, just hire Lindsay’s rep. He’s already got a list of about 200 for you to use.

Over the past few years, guests to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner have included Ozzy Osbourne and Kim Kardashian. So don’t be too surprised to hear this year Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren and husband, John Coale’s, guest will be Lindsay Lohan. They’ll also be inviting her to Tammy Haddad and Hilary Rosen’s garden brunch on Saturday afternoon.

Imagine. Lindsay Lohan at the White House. Tell the interns to hide the valuables. Also, has anyone told Lindsay that it’s not called the White House because there’s cocaine in every room? We don’t want to get her hopes up.

Following news that Lindsay Lohan has finally been confirmed to play Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime’s original movie, Rosie O’Donnell, who was on the Today show with Matt Lauer and Donny Deutsch, raged with enough spittle flying out of her mouth to fill a kiddie pool.

Rosie said Lindsay has no business playing Liz and isn’t capable of the role because her life is still a disaster.  ”I feel very sorry for her… I think she needs a lot of time away… She’s had a lot of trouble doing every single movie, including SNL. She was out and not in rehearsal. I think she’s not in a place to work.”

Deutsch put on his troll hat suggesting, “She’s our generation’s Elizabeth Taylor,” which made Rosie go crazy. “You’re out of your mind! You’re a crackhead! The last thing she did good, she was sixteen. I don’t think she’s right for the role and I don’t think she’s capable at this point to portray that character.”

Naturally, Michael Lohan responded telling TMZ, “Who the hell is Rosie O’Donnell to judge anyone, especially Lindsay, who has far more talent than Rosie ever had?” Michael goes on to mention Rosie’s two failed talkshows and failed marriage. “He/she who is without sin. May they cast the first stone,” Michael said no doubt ironically.

Following news that Lindsay Lohan didn’t royally screw up her Glee guest appearance comes a report that says Lindsay has officially signed on to play Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime’s original movie Liz & Dick.

Lindsay sent out a statement that read, ”I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role.”

Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President, Programming of Lifetime Networks confirms the news, “We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor. She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon.”

Remember the days when it wouldn’t have taken Lindsay three months of begging to secure a role in an original Lifetime movie? She’d just have to say yes and they’d have already done a line of blow together — a Hollywood Handshake — to seal the deal before 10 minutes were even up. Now the only lines of blow she’s going to be near is an actual line outside a casting agent’s office.

Now that Lindsay Lohan made it through filming her guest appearance on Glee, playing a judge for Nationals, without drunkenly running over a cast member at the wrap party, Chris Colfer is thanking her for ignoring the hit-and-run for publicity clause in her contract by telling everyone she did a pretty good job.

Colfer told Celebuzz at the Tribeca Film Festival, “I can’t say much, but Lindsay is judging the Nationals show choir competition, which is damn funny.” Note that Colfer gave himself some leeway by really saying the concept was funny, not that Lindsay herself was funny. Though any guest appearance that doesn’t end in a battery or theft charge is a win in Lindsay’s agent’s book.

Following two incidents in which Lindsay Lohan pushed one woman and threw a drink at another, Lindsay has banned herself from The Standard and will be taking her partying elsewhere. Instead of slowing down on the clubbing, she’s in search for a new spot. Probably one that doesn’t have cameras where anything can be proven in a court of law.

In other news, Lindsay admits ignoring the judge’s advice and was at Smoke & Mirrors at The Standard during the drink-throwing incident on Wednesday but insists the other girl was the instigator. Why anyone would believe Lindsay is beyond me. Based on her history of lying, the other woman could say Lindsay punched her in the vagina and people would just go, “Yep, sounds like Lindsay.”

A witness inside The Standard Hotel where Lindsay Lohan’s latest bar fight took place alleges that Lindsay started the whole mess. It began in the hotel at Smoke & Mirrors. A girl was at the booth next to Lindsay’s when Lindsay “aggressively” tapped her on the shoulder and asked, “Did you bump into me?”

Oh lawdy, someone bumped into you at a club? Of course one must demand answers because this sort of thing doesn’t happen all the time.

The girl denied it but suggested that it may have been one of the two guys in Lindsay’s group and pointed to one of them. Then it went downhill from there because Lindsay is entitled and thinks everyone should bow down to her.

Lindsay: That’s my dad… why would he bump me? (Oh, I don’t know, maybe by accident? Just spit-balling here.)
Girl: You go clubbing with your dad? (Zing!)

Lindsay, unable to think of a good comeback or even a logical reason as to why she was clubbing with her dad, started cursing the girl out and threw a drink at her face. Michael Lohan thought then it would be a good time to get out of there.
