In an inexplicable move by NBC, the network has decided to pull Community from its mid-season lineup. The show will be replaced by new episodes of 30 Rock. 30 Rock’s 9:30 slot will now be filled by Christina Applegate’s Up All Night.

The Hollywood Reporter says Community will return to NBC at a date to be determined. Others believe this is a clear sign the show will not be renewed next year.

Sources cite the low ratings for the decision. Which is confusing because Community is a great show. But it sort of makes sense because it seems like only old people apply for a Nielsen box. How else can you explain that Two and a Half Men and Big Bang Theory (coincidentally both created by Chuck Lorre) are still on? Those shows suck. I’ve seen funnier stuff on rotten.com.

NBC announced today that they’ve signed a deal with Dane Cook to develop a half-hour sitcom starring Mr. Superfinger slated to launch next Fall. Cook recently guest starred on Louie last month where he and Louis C.K. addressed the joke-stealing controversy.

What is this? TDW adds that multiple networks wanted to sign Cook with NBC ending up on top. There. Is. No. God!

If he makes this sitcom loosely based on his life as a comedian in LA, I might have to salute him for being the greatest irl  troll ever.

After reading the synopsis for the Wonder Woman remake and looking at the set pictures with the terrible costumes, the consensus was this show would be terrible. The remake had Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) as a CEO of a major conglomerate by day and an Amazonian superhero with a fleet of planes by night. NBC seemed to agree it sounded awful as they just passed on the pilot from David E. Kelley and WB TV.

According to EW, early test screenings earned mixed reviews and the fact that Adrianne Palicki’s Wonder Woman costume wasn’t patriotic enough was a sticking point. Although not even a redesign could save the show.

Now all Adrianne Palicki can do is wallow in self-pity and look back on those horrendous set shots. Seriously, what was up with those. It looked like her boobs were about to hit her in the face. If that costume was any lower, she might as well have been wearing tassels.

Yesterday, Questlove of The Roots tweeted that picture of NBC’s menu for Black History Month. Controversy erupted as people thought NBC was promoting stereotypes. Turns out that’s what black people like to eat. At least that’s what African-American chef Leslie Calhoun who created the menu liked to eat.

“All I wanted to do was make a meal that everyone would enjoy — and that I eat myself,” NBC cook Leslie Calhoun told The Post last night.

“Questlove, who I serve every day and who enjoys my food, requested the neck bone [cooked in] the black-eyed peas and fried chicken, then got off the line, saying, ‘This is racist,’ ” she said.

“The next thing you know, people were taking pictures of the sign and asking all the other black people in the cafeteria if this was racist. They said that it wasn’t.”

“Whew, crisis averted,” an NBC exec said as she went back to the top floor and wiped the shoe polish off her face.

NBC is on a PR roll. Today, Questlove, drummer for The Roots and leader of the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon band, tweeted this photo from the NBC offices.

Apparently in honor of Black History month, NBC will be serving fried chicken, collard greens, black eyed peas, cornbread and fountain soda which is no doubt grape in flavor.

NBC vice president of communications Kevin Goldman quickly replied, “The sign in the NBCU cafeteria has been removed. We apologize for anyone who was offended by it.”

It’s okay, Kevin Goldman. The only thing offensive about this is that you left out how this meal could be paid for with food stamps. I mean, unless that’s the part that was cut off at the bottom. If that’s the case, then offensive? Why would anyone think that?

Conan O’Brien will be parting NBC $45 million richer. Sort of. Conan will get $32.5 million regardless of whether he finds work at another network. NBC will pay $7.5 million to the Tonight Show staff and $4.5 million to the executive producer.

Conan’s final show will be on Friday. Leno will return as host on March 1. There’s been no announcement of who will host the Tonight Show between then.

“In the end, Conan was appreciative of the steps NBC made to take care of his staff and crew, and decided to supplement the severance they were getting out of his own pocket,” his manager, Gavin Polone, told The Wall Street Journal. “Now he just wants to get back on the air as quickly as possible.”

Since Conan won’t be able to take most of the characters from his show with him due to the fact that they’re the intellectual property of NBC, he brought out the banned masturbating bear for the last time. It brings a tear to my eye that I’ll never see a bear play with his huge sack in front of me again. Why? Why!

Heroes is a new NBC show premiering in the fall.

They thought they were like everyone else… until they woke with incredible abilities. In Japan, a lowly office worker can teleport at will. In New York, a struggling artist can paint the future. In Los Angeles, a discontented beat cop can hear the thoughts of others. Elsewhere, a high school cheerleader discovers she is unbreakable and a single mom realizes she has a powerful alter ego. Heroes chronicles the lives of these people and the lives of others like them, whose destiny just might be saving humankind.

A long summary that I didn’t write myself because it would have been too interesting. In short, this sounds like one of the shows to keep an eye on. Even the 4 minute preview here is interesting.
