Steve Carell said that the next season of The Office will be his last. Thank god. Hopefully the series can finally wrap up. That show hasn’t been funny in a while. Community, Modern Family and Better Off Ted are all way better.

Steve Carell’s contract with The Office runs out next season. When asked by British TV if he’s staying, Carell replied, “I don’t think so. I think that will probably be my last year.”

FOX says now that Steve is a big movie star, he doesn’t need to do a weekly TV series. Add to the fact The Office is rarely funny anymore and everything begins to make sense. There’s no shame in leaving a sinking ship.

Carell will run into the same problems plaguing Will Ferrell in his movie career which is playing the same character over and over again. How many times do I need to watch a clueless, screaming Will Ferrell stumble through a film? Just like how many times are people going to put up with an ignorant and clueless Steve Carell awkwardly delivering lines? At some point people are going to realize they’ve been paying to watch the same movie over and over again.

Last week it was brought to everyone’s attention that Craig Robinson, Darryl from The Office, may have a drug problem. On June 29 he was pulled over for a traffic violation in Culver City, CA. Upon searching his vehicle, a cornucopia of drugs including meth and ecstasy were found. According to TMZ, the DA has charged Craig with possession and being under the influence of cocaine, amphetamines and cannabinoids.

No word on how this is affecting Kelly Kapur. No one’s even sure if she even knows yet as she’s still staring at herself in the mirror and coming up with different ways to make Ryan jealous. However, it is fairly certain that Michael Scott will make a comment about drugs and black people. There’s a 50/50 chance he’ll do this in “urban speak”.

The weekend video madness continues. Cult favorite Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Serenity) directed Thursday’s episode of The Office adding in some Whedonesque elements. Namely vampires. Preview below.
