Reddit is a social media juggernaut so of course studios are going to start using it as their new promotional tool. On Friday, Woody Harrelson hosted an AMA (Ask Me Anything) to promote his film Rampart which backfired horribly. Redditors didn’t take kindly to an AMA where the only questions being answered were film related. Instead, they wanted to know about Woody Harrelson being an asshole and taking the virginity of a high school girl and never calling her afterward.

I swear this is a true story. I went to a high school in LA and you crashed our prom after party (Universal Hilton). You ended up taking the virginity of a girl named Roseanna. You didn’t call her afterwards. She cried a lot. Do you remember any of this and can confirm or have you been so knee deep in hollywood pooty for so long that this qualifies as a mere blip?

Woody denied it, “First of off, its not true, and second off, I don’t want to answer questions about that. Lets focus on the film people” and ended up just plugging Rampart in the few questions he did answer.

Eventually the entire thread devolved or evolved into a collective bashing of Woody. He didn’t help matters when he replied to, “Should change this AMA to AMAAR (Ask Me Anything About Rampart),” with “We gotta be… i consider my time valuable.” Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian called the AMA an epic fail.

Dulljack’s comment featured in the Observer sums up this promotion nicely:

Agent- “Hey, there is this website called Readdit where we can pitch Woody’s new movie! Every person on it is in our target demographic!!!”

Hollywood is probably stroking its chins wondering why people didn’t want to hear Woody Harrelson say Rampart every other word. “I thought these internet losers loved being this close to a celebrity.”

Responding to a charge that he assaulted a TMZ cameraman at La Guardia airport, Woody Harrelson claimed he mistook the photog for a zombie. Harrelson said he had just finished wrapping up his movie Zombieland and was still in character when he and his daughter were being followed by the photog through the airport. Naturally, he thought he was still under assault by the undead.

Which explains everything, actually. I’m glad finally someone finally stood up to them. I’d punch them in the face myself if I could. Wait, by “zombie” Woody means “minority,” right?

Woody Harrelson attacked a TMZ photog for the second time on Wednesday. The first incident came in 2006 when Woody broke a TMZ camera and choked the cameraman.

On Wednesday, Woody was at La Guardia airport when a photog started asking him a few questions. Woody shoved his camera in his face and took it from him. TMZ continues:

Our photog says Woody smashed the camera to the ground, breaking it. Harrelson then picked the camera up and began walking away with it. The photog followed Woody, claiming he was assaulted and demanded that Woody return the camera. That’s when Harrelson attacked again, striking the photog repeatedly and grabbing his neck. Our cameraman shot the action with his flip cam.

Just once I’d like to see a photog defend themselves when they’re attacked and not cry like a little girl. I guess they can’t sue, but it would be pretty sweet to see Woody Harrelson acting big and tough punching a guy and then the guy turns around and knocks him out with an elbow. That or when a celebrity starts going off, karate chop them in the throat. That should shut them up pretty quick.

TMZ is reporting that one of their cameramen was assaulted by Woody Harrelson. By assaulted, I mean choked. After the incident, Levine, the camerman, flagged down an LAPD cruiser and told them what just happened with a witness confirming the story. The LAPD’s response was to drive away.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. outside Element, a club frequented by celebrities. As Harrelson left with three women and two men, Levine and other photogs began shooting. Harrelson became irritated and asked Levine to stop shooting. Harrelson then walked over to Levine, put his hand on the camera and asked Levine to stop. Levine said “All I’m doing is my job.” Harrelson, who appears in “A Prairie Home Companion,” then said, “I’ve asked you to stop, are you going to stop?” and Levine replied, “Not when you ask me like that.”

Harrelson should be happy anyone takes interest in him at all. I mean, before this, I didn’t even know he was alive. He might have just given Levine the gift of early retirement. There’s nothing that says I’m rich like having footage of a celebrity choking you or getting someone to write “I’m rich” on your forehead with a sharpie.
