In a move that puts at #1 in internet video, bought this afternoon for $1.65 billion. was founded by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim in February 2005.

Founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen and their 65 employees will join the company, said today in a statement distributed by Business Wire. In less than two years, San Bruno, California-based has catapulted from startup to Internet icon with 34 million monthly U.S. visitors.

That’s amazing. Considering started up only last year and had been burning VC money, this is the equivalent of winning the lottery. $1.65 billion! Do you know how many hookers that could buy? Live ones?!

Her videos were one of the most watched and discussed videos on . If you haven’t seen any of them, just imagine Dawson’s Creek except more dull. The masterminds behind these videos were Ramesh Flinders, a screenwriter, and Miles Beckett, a filmmaker, from Marin County, California.
