Futurama is making a comeback. Comedy Central is going to air 13 new episodes along with repeats of the series starting in 2008.
My eyes popped when I read this. When The Simpsons started to slide, Futurama was there to fill void. However, if this show returns the same way Ren and Stimpy returned, then I’d think twice about catching it. Watching Fry take it in the ass from Professor Fansworth would be fascinating, but that’s not what I’m really there for.
“There is a deep and passionate fan base for this intelligent and very funny show that matches perfectly with our audience, and it is great that we can offer them not just the existing library but something they’ve never seen as well.”
