Jessica Simpson won a Chrysler Crossfire at an MTV Video Music Award swag giveaway event. She opted to exchange it for a seven passenger minivan and donated it to Mama Lupita’s orphanage.
“Last week, someone asked Mama Lupita if she could use a van at the orphanage,” a source close to Simpson tells PEOPLE. “Mama Lupita said, ‘Of course we could use it.’ So then she was told that she was getting a brand new seven-passenger van from Jessica Simpson for the orphanage.” Adds the source: “She started to cry for three minutes straight and then said, ‘I can’t wait to give Jessica a big hug.’ “
While I’m sure this story is true, Mama Lupita sounds fake. Like one of those names they use in the movies or something Jessica Simpson would make up. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for giving to charities regardless of who runs it, but if next week I hear about Jessica donating a private jet to Gumby’s Chemo Therapy Ranch, I’d be a little suspicious.
“Mama Lupita” is NOT a fake name. Go to our website http://www.CasaHogarElimUS.org and see for yourself. Since, by your own admission, you are all for giving to charities, instead of criticizing Jessica, why don’t you make a donation?
Be cool.
Chris. I think this was supposed to be more of a joke than saying Mama Lupita doesn’t exist.
Well if it was a joke, the it didn’t make me giggle. I guess I am just a little defensive when it comes to the kids.
