According to Us, Skylar Deleon, 29, tricked husband and wife, Tom and Jackie Hawks, into thinking he was a prospective buyer for their yacht. He had them boat out off the California coast for a test drive where he tied them both to an anchor and threw them overboard. Deleon was also charged with not only scamming $50,000 from John Jarvi, but also with slitting his throat. John’s body was found near a roadway in Mexico in 2003. Tom and Jackie’s bodies were never found.
Deleon’s attorney told the jury from the beginning that his client was guilty of the crimes but argued that he should be spared the death penalty.
“He’s had a horrible, horrible life,” Pohlson said, noting that Deleon’s father abused him and later died of AIDS.
Us Magazine is running this with the headline “Power Ranger Star Convicted in Three Murders.” Except when you check on IMDB, it only lists him as being in 1 episode as “Roger,” a supporting character. He didn’t even have a dumb colored suit like turquoise or gay. Gay is a color, right? I mean, what’s up with that? That hardly makes him a “Power Ranger Star.”
Of course, that doesn’t make these murders any less crazy. How messed up do you have to be to tie an anchor to two people and throw them off their own yacht. It must have been a really nice yacht. Like, it ran on corn and exhausted Cristal and had a bunch of drugged up models who didn’t speak English stowed in the hull.
