Gossip Girl star, Leighton Meester, 23, has signed a deal with Universal Republic through Time-Act Music. Her music is described as “electro-pop edge.” Sounds like someone just combined a bunch of cool sounding words.
“I’m thrilled to be welcomed into the Universal Republic fold,” Leighton said in a statement released to the mag. “Their reputation for nurturing artists combined with a willingness to break new ground makes it the ultimate environment for me to enjoy making music and explore my own creative boundaries.”
Luckily for Meester, her hotness to talent ratio is excellent. She could sound like Paris Hilton / Heidi Montag singing a duet written by K-Fed, but based on how badly I want to bang her, she’ll be the equivalent of a Radiohead. The same goes for Katharine McPhee. I don’t think I’ve heard one of her songs, but she’s already been voted one of the most influential artists of this century by me.
