Billy Mays dead at 50

Famous TV pitchman Bill Mays is dead at only 50 years old. During a rough landing while aboard a US Airways flight from Philadelphia, the tire blew out and something hit him on the head during the jostling. Billy told FOX 13:

“All of a sudden as we hit you know it was just the hardest hit, all the things from the ceiling started dropping,” he said. “It hit me on the head, but I got a hard head.”

He even Twittered soon after:

“Just had a close call landing in Tampa. The tires blew out upon landing. Stuck in the plane on the runway. You can always count on US Air.”

On Saturday the day of the accident, he told his family he wasn’t feeling well and went to sleep early at 10 PM. Mays was found dead Sunday morning by his wife.

The FAA were quick to point out Billy Mays wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. However, a spokesperson for the FAA later denied saying that. Smart move because it’s not as if Billy was tossed around the plane. No, something fell and hit him on the head.

Billy is survived by his wife, three-year-old daughter and stepson. An autopsy will be performed later Monday afternoon.
