Billy Ray Cyrus sounds like a cool dad

Billy Ray Cyrus doesn’t see any problem with Miley Cyrus’ pole dance performance at the Teen Choice Awards this month. Cyrus, sort of dodging the subject, said, “You know what? I just think that Miley loves entertaining people. She loves singing and songwriting. I always tell her to love what you’re doing and stay focused for the love of the art and not worry so much about opinion. I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they wanna make, and make it in their own voice. I think it’s important.”

So what Billy Ray is trying to say is that Miley Cyrus pole dancing on top of an ice cream cart is art. Funny, that’s the same thing strippers tell themselves to rationalize shoving men’s faces into their bare breasts. Coincidentally, it’s also what I tell strippers to get them to sleep with me. “You’re an artist. The stage: your canvas. The thong you just shoved in my mouth: your paintbrush.” So, I guess in a way, Miley Cyrus is a lot like Ruby Sunshine from Cheetah’s who does amazing tricks with ping pong balls.

I think that Billy Ray Cyrus needs to stop telling the world that he and his family are Christians. Any way you look at Miley’s actions in the past couple of years tells you that she is just like all of the other money hungry actors out there. She will do anything to attract attention to herslef. And if it means drawing attention to her underage body, she will do it. That is not a way that a Christian would act. I used to have a lot of respect for Billy Ray, but not anymore. They are as pagan as… Read more »

COMPLETELY AGREE. Listen, they can do whatever the hell they want. But when they say they love Jesus, they’re Christians blah, blah, blah, Miley can’t be swinging around no stripper pole. I’m pretty sure Jesus would be puking if he saw what people did in his name. BTW, the definition of a Christian is being CHRIST LIKE. As far as I’m concerned, there are only a handful of people in this world that could be considered true Christians.

warren, don’t be retarded. what a dumb argument.

Okay, first off that was not pole dancing, evidently you’ve never seen pole dancing. Secondly, she’s from the South originally and if you come to the South you will see all the 17 year old girls dressed the same way, that is if they are not pregnant or married or both, dancing way more provocative than she was. I’m not trying to stereotype b/c I’m from the South too. However, when I was her age no one but my granny thought twice about me wearing short shorts and tank tops that showed my belly. To me it seems Billy Ray… Read more »

I couldn’t agree more. I think that you hit the nail on the head. If you are going to be a Christian then act like one 7 days a week. Either than that don’t profess to being one. Escpecially if you are in the spot light. It says look at me I am a Christian and can do as I please. I also think that it is great that she thanks God. Her talent is God given and deserves the thanks, But if you are an ambasidor for Christ, then act like it 24/7. And Billy Ray, I still think… Read more »

So what Billy Ray Cyrus is saying – literally – is that his 16 year-old daughter wants to be a professional pole dancer. I mean, if he tells his kids to make the art they want and to love it… Well, we can expect lil Miley here to be a future hooker :D

*Seriously, I’d be at least a little worried if that were my daughter up there.

Oh yes, right on Amy!!!!!!!

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Future hooker in the making – I don’t think that it will be a shock to anyone.

Are all of you professing Christians? I thought Christians weren’t supposed to be judgmental? These comments sure sound a bit judgmental to me. And no, I’m not a Miley fan.

The judge not lest ye be judged gets taken out of context too much. As Christians we are follow 2nd Timothy 3:16, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;” This means that when another Christian is not living a life that reflects holiness that we are to use scripture for teaching and correction. There is a difference between judging someone without knowing their true motives or values and attempting to reach a fellow brother or sister who may be taking their lives in the wrong direction. Hope this helps.… Read more »

Well, she is just about done with Disney and Hannah Montana. She is trying to project to an older audience.
With those legs, she can work the pole real well. I see her doing grown up movies in just a few years. Juast as soon as she is old enough to get nude.

She’s going to end up a stripper. Or a really cheesy moive actress doing mostly nude shots. Honestly. Girls need better people to look up to then Paris Hilton and Miley Cyrus almost pole dancing and writing s**t songs all about her, all the time.

I wouldn’t want my daughter doing that; even for a bunch of younger kids. But appanretly; the attention and money outdoes her ‘Christian Morals’.

Honestly; this girl needs to get out of Hollywood (and if so can probably be found at a strip club).

What pole dance? When I saw that performance, neither “pole dance,” nor “provocative” came to mind. “Teeny-bop” is what came to mind. I don’t think “pole dance” is the image the coreographer intended. She needed something to hang onto while dancing around on that cart and holding a mic in one hand. The dance, itself, was anything but provocative. I might not let my daughter wear shorts that short, but she’s covered up and not even showing any midriff or cleavage. I’ve trained my young daughters to recognize dress and behavior that’s “nasty.” If they’d thought her dress or dancing… Read more »

Did people really watch this?! If they did, they do not know much about pole dancing. It looks more like she was trying to hold on and look cool while she was at it! People need to get a life and not worry so much about things they do not have control over- leave the kid alone!!!!!!

First being a Christian is not defined as being “Christ Like”, It is accepting Christ as one’s savior. Yes, it is not man’s place to judge but God’s! In this case..what to judge? Had she not had a pole to hold onto she would have a broken neck! She did not make love to the pole! She hung on to it! I guess when we need to hug a pole on the bus we should let go and fall? Remember the Lord’s prayer. “Forgive us as we forgive others” If we cannot forgive other people for ANYTHING they do, then… Read more »

Miley has been looking and acting like a sleezey slut for awhile now. Her pictures get raunchier as time goes by. She is gonna be just another little rich girl slut, just like the rest of them. And Daddy don’t care, shes rakin in the dough. $$$$$$
She sure won’t be a role model to any kids I know.
