Of course she went on ET

After Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail, naturally Dina Lohan had to give an interview with Entertainment Tonight. Dina tells ET that Lindsay is “scared to death” but will fight until the bitter end and that Lindsay, with new legal counsel, will file an appeal before she has to serve time. Dina, pretending their previous lawyer didn’t quit out of frustration, said “I think it’s time we get another attorney just to see it from another light and do damage control.”

Dina also reveals she’s just as delusional and out of the loop as Lindsay is.

Dina says Lindsay was “completely blindsided.” Lindsay believes she was in complete compliance with the terms of her parole and that the outcome of the day in court was to be the removal of her SCRAM bracelet. Dina speaks out against Judge Marsha Revel for allowing the proceedings to be televised and making a “spectacle” of her daughter, saying, “This is not an OJ Simpson trial, which they made it out to be.”

Furthermore, Dina questions Judge Revel’s fairness in the hearing, saying, “If she wants a trial, then make it a fair trial. I feel like Shawn [Chapman Holley], Lindsay’s [former] attorney should have stood up and said, ‘Listen, I didn’t know you were going to have witnesses.’ We would have had ten witnesses. We didn’t get a shot. We didn’t get a shot at fairness.”

As for the mood in Lindsay’s home over the past 48 hours, Dina says, “It’s very difficult, we’re not sleeping well, we’re not functioning. We cry a lot and we hug a lot. She’s petrified, we all are. We’re angry. We’re disappointed in the system.”

Dina says that although she believes Lindsay should not be in rehab today, she doesn’t condone the behavior that landed her daughter in trouble with the law in 2007, saying, “She did a really stupid thing. Thank God she didn’t hurt anyone….I know my daughter is clean and sober today. I know that for a fact. I’m not a doctor…and I’m not an attorney. I’m a mother. And I’m sitting here, as a mother, just worried about my child.”

That’s interesting because while Dina is disappointed in the system, others are celebrating the fact that the system finally worked for once. A celebrity didn’t just get a slap on the wrist for acting like a complete idiot. In this case, they were actually treated like a normal person. It’s also comical what Dina says at the end. That she knows for a fact that Lindsay is clean and sober today even though a drug test showed what may have been an abuse of prescription medication and that she discredits her opinion by stating she’s no doctor or attorney or nothin’. That’s like me saying that I’m no scientist, but I know for a fact alligators can fly.
