Turns out not meeting the residency requirements and not having any political experience other than starting a charity and siphoning money from said it may be keeping Wyclef Jean from becoming the next Haitian president. Those Haitians don’t know what they’re missing out on. I totally saw this dude sing and play guitar at the same time once!
Haiti’s provisional electoral council said on Thursday that Jean was not on the list of approved candidates who satisfy legal requirements to run in the election.
Everyone says that’s fine with them because Wyclef doesn’t have enough experience to lead Haiti and point to the fact he’s lived in New York since he was a teen and doesn’t know French but I bet the real reason is because he’s black.
