After 8 years of marriage, Olivia Wilde is no longer a princess. She and her filmmaker husband Tao Ruspoli have split.
Now 26, Wilde eloped with Ruspoli — the son of late Italian Prince Dado Ruspoli — at age 18, just six months after they were fixed up. The site of their wedding wasn’t a royal palace or another lavish setting — it was an abandoned school bus in rural Virginia.
“The bus was the only place we could be completely alone,” Wilde told Playboy in November. “The wedding was a secret, and we wanted to do it someplace where we could hide with our best friends. It was all about the intimacy of the promise we were making.”
She added of the quirky wedding venue: “We were hippies. We lived on that bus for months.”
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life, it’s that marriages in abandoned school buses never work out. Abandoned city buses on the other hand. That’s a different story.
