Bret Easton Ellis who you may remember from, um, writing American Psycho, tweeted yesterday, “I like the idea of Glee but why is it that every time I watch an episode I feel like I’ve stepped into a puddle of HIV?” While no one from Glee is publicly commenting, one insider calls it “Disgusting.”
This shouldn’t really come as a surprise as last November, he took on the gay youth suicide prevention campaign “It Does Get Better” by tweeting, “Not to burn everyone out, but can we get a reality check here? It gets worse.”
That insider is right. Bret Easton Ellis is disgusting. Puddle of HIV? Icky, icky, icky. Oh and that comparison he drew. That was pretty bad too.
I fully expect the gay community to be on this guy’s ass like a gay stereotype I can’t think of because Glee is the gayest show on television. I mean, in that it has a really large gay following. But also because it’s gay.
uh, has anyone done any research here? Not to excuse anything he said but Easton Ellis is bisexual himself (although he prefers not to label it), so he’s hardly homophobic. He’s just being satirical, doesn’t anyone realise his followers are going to be fans of his work? He’s known for very dark humour. This seems kind of like un-news.
You fail to mention that he also attacked Chris Colfer personally. Chris is a kid doing his job. Ellis is a creep. End of story.
I agree. This guy does sound rather off.
That show must go
