Bullies Force Rebecca Black Into Homeschooling

Teen pop sensation Rebecca Black told ABC News that her mother started homeschooling her because she was being relentlessly teased after the release of internet smash hit “Friday.” My jealousy sense is tingling.

Black tells ABC the other kids were always singling her out. “When I walk by they’ll start singing ‘Friday’ in a really nasally voice … Or, you know, they’ll be like, ‘Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?'” Which seems weird because she sounds like a nice person.

Friday went viral on March 11. It’s August now. If they’re still making fun of her, then at least it must make Rebecca happy to know the song has some staying power. On the bright side, she won’t have to face the conundrum of deciding which seat to take. Because there’s only one. In the living room. Where she has class.

Rebecca’s mom spun the story saying the homeschooling was to help her 14-year-old focus on her career. A career of producing terrible teen pop music apparently.
