Kat Von D’s ‘LA Ink’ Canceled

Not only did Kat Von D’s engagement to Jesse James end, presumably because he was cheating on her, but now TLC has decided to not renew LA Ink. In a statement released by the network, they say, “TLC has decided that the current season of LA Ink will be its last. The network is proud of what the series has accomplished in its four seasons, following Kat Von D’s journey as an artist from Miami to Los Angeles. The series finale will air September 15th at 10 p.m.”

However, according to Kat Von D, she wasn’t fired. She quit because she had integrity.

“In an effort to capitalize on my recent breakup, the network has decided to focus their energy on re-editing events that didn’t happen while filming,” she tells PEOPLE. “I have no regrets and am very proud of the original footage. In my opinion, any attempt to compromise the honesty of that would be an insult to my fans and viewers.”

Von D adds, “As grateful as I am to have been a part of a show like LA Ink, I’m ready to end this chapter and want to focus on other projects now.”

I highly doubt fans of LA Ink or any reality show watch it for the honesty. That would be like watching Nascar just to see a bunch of cars drive in a circle and not for the possibility of a fiery crash or watching hockey for the puck handling and not for the possibility of a fight. Although I do like TLC’s recent decision to purge themselves of reality tv. It’s like they’re on a master cleanse of people who annoy me.
