CBS Says ‘Thanks, Charlie Sheen’

CBS should send Charlie Sheen a bouquet of roses with that $100 million check because his mental breakdown, subsequent firing and replacing by Ashton Kutcher gave the Two and a Half Men premiere 27.8 million viewers. The highest-rated episode in the show’s history and the highest-rated scripted show in years, even beating the 2011 Super Bowl episode of Glee.

The premiere gave NBC’s Mad Men-esque The Playboy Club no chance as it scored only 5 million viewers with 1.6 million in the key demographic. Which was weird because who wouldn’t want to watch Eddie Cibrian pretend to be a second-rate Don Draper? People love derivative tv shows!

2 1/2 MEN: The first episode of this season 9/19/11 was a disappointment. The character, Walden, is a suicidal billionaire one minute & then heading upstairs with a couple of girls shortly thereafter. Alan is the same schlemeel that he was with Charlie but it doesn’t work with Kutcher. While the ensemble cast has always been excellent, Charlie was the show.

He’s supposed to be a shy, internet billionaire without social skills, but walks around naked and the show constantly refers to his huge cock…  So, the show goes from the idiotic premise that Charlie is a player because he pays for pussy, do a shy guy with a big dick walking around naked.  I see next year’s Emmy for comedy writing!
