Who Thought a ‘Sex and the City’ Prequel Was a Good Idea?

The CW (naturally) is moving forward with three new projects. Arrow based on DC Comics’ Green Arrow (probably to fill the void that Smallville left behind), a modern-day Beauty and the Beast (because every network needs their own fairy tale show now) and… wait for it… The Carrie Diaries, a Sex and the City prequel (ahh! why won’t this go away?).

Meanwhile, the young-skewing net has officially ordered The Carrie Diaries, based on the book of the same name by Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell and revolves around Carrie Bradshaw during her senior year of high school in the early 1980s as she asks her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while navigating the worlds of high school and Manhattan. So this is like Gossip Girl but in the 80’s. I give it one season at the most. Granted, it can’t be worse than seeing Sarah Jessica Parker in hi-def. You don’t know true terror until you’ve seen that.
