‘America’s Got Talent’ Stuttering Fraud Getting Scrubbed, Death Threats

On Monday, America’s Got Talent was introduced to Timothy Poe, a vet who developed a speech impediment as a result of an RPG blast in Afghanistan. At least according to him. On Tuesday, TMZ asked Tim to backup his claims since the Minnesota National Guard said the blast never happened. He couldn’t. Probably because he made it all up. It’s not even clear if he even has a stutter.

On the same Tuesday, Staff Sgt. Norman Bone, who was told by a friend to watch the segment, realized the photo Tim used was actually of himself and pulled from the US Department of Defense website.

Bone — who currently serves in El Paso, TX — tells us, “First thing that came to my mind was ‘Why would this lying son of a bitch do this?'” … adding, “I’m absolutely furious. Been seeing red all day.”

America’s Got Talent has since issued an apology and is axing Tim’s appearances from the show. It’s not clear whether he’ll be allowed to continue but it’s doubtful it’ll make a difference. People don’t take kindly to frauds. Especially ones who barely served in Afghanistan before they were medivac’d out for an ear infection.

Now, not unexpectedly, him and his family have been getting death threats.

We’re told Poe’s sister-in-law went to the store Thursday with her kids and someone came up to them and said, “We’re going to kill you and the whole family.”

Several family members have received phone calls. We’re told Poe’s fiancee answered the phone (after Poe’s number was leaked on social media) and the caller said, “You made American vets look bad and now you’re going to suffer.”

And we’re told another vet called to warn that he and others would be coming to Poe’s house, so “watch out.”

A family member claims Poe has become suicidal and has been “crying incessantly.” Aww, poor widdle baby.

So the moral of this story is: don’t claim to be a war vet when you got an “ear infection” to get out of serving and don’t claim you got a bunch of medals including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart because those things can be verified and when they are, real soldiers will threaten to kill you.

Not defending the man, but exactly when did he claim to have gotten any medals? I watch that show and there was never a mention of anything of the sort. The writer of this piece is as guilty of making things up as anyone.

Oh, and who are you to be saying, “Aww, poor widdle baby,” I too don’t defend this man and what he claimed to be, but tell me what family deserves to be getting death threats and pushing the man to be suicidal? He clearly is not going to move on to the next level. Your comment disgusts me. Though you did do what Poe did, you, Sir, are no better.

That article posted here by “theblemish” is the most shocking and disappointing article I have read regarding this whole story, and frankly, I am without words. Although I don’t wish any harm towards Poe, I do hope that if his claims are not true, there is some way he can stop saying such things, if it is out of his control. Honestly, I can’t imagine anyone would choose to do such a thing after so many years in the military. I remember being teary eyed that morning I watched my PrimeTime Anytime recording, and now I’m afraid I may have… Read more »

If he hadnt made up the rpg story. He would have been resoected by all for serving. Unlike most if the protected sheep commenting. What a waste if talent. Threats to him, over the top, threats to family unacceptable.

It’s revolting to see a ‘reporter’ of any ilk being so biased; though, to be fair, I don’t know this site, and it might be perfectly acceptable for you to express your contempt as a writer on this site. Suicide is absolutely no laughing matter, and no one deserves to feel that they should kill themselves. I’m not saying that what this guy did was at all okay, however he certainly doesn’t deserve death threats and a feeling of worthlessness. I’m sure he already has mental issues if he did all of this, and the fact that people are so… Read more »

Haha, this guy lies about RPG fire to garner sympathy and the citizens and vets of the US are already making death threats to him. He was there for almost a year, which is more than what most of you would do, let alone last. I also love how he’s being threatened by people he swore to fight for. Now, I’m no american, thank god, but I’m pretty sure when someone outside of your country makes death threats to an american citizen, you idiots call it terrorism. Good job at being no better than the people you murder on a… Read more »

Hey Celius, he was actually in Afghanistan for 3 days, you fucking moron. Do some research. The US military accounts for travel time from the time you leave CONUS (That’s continental US) to the time you return. He was gone for about 30 days (I believe it was 28 days). According to his unit, he was actually only boots on the ground in afghanistan for 3 days and never left the airbase he arrived to. He is a chickenshit coward who wanted to be a war hero and didn’t even spend a week in country. F**k him, and f**k you… Read more »

I agree, what you are doing is serving up supported violence toward the ill mental man, you should not encourage violence under this type of situation. Shame on you

What Tim Poe did was wrong, BUT it is ludicrous for this article to suggest that he and his family deserve to receive death threats. Tim Poe’s lies really did not hurt a single person, they were an insult to our honorable men and women who have/do serve in the military, but that is all they were. Whoever is issuing these death threats are really not acting a whole lot better than the types of people our military forces are fighting.
