Joe Paterno Statue Taken Down

After a report came out saying Joe Paterno knew about Jerry Sandusky molesting little boys but didn’t say anything because he didn’t want to inconvenience anyone, people called for the removal of his statue at Penn State.

Over the weekend, Penn State conceded, moving the statue to a “secured location.” Penn State president Rodney Erikson said in a statement, “I now believe that, contrary to is original intention, Coach Paterno’s statue has become a source of division and an obstacle to hearing in our university and beyond. For that reason, I have decided that it is in the best interest of our university and public safety to remove the statue and store it in a secure location.”

In its new location, Paterno’s statue will have its back facing the boy’s locker room shrugging its shoulders to best honor his memory.
