Ron Perlman Seems Nice

6-year-old Zachary told the Make-A-Wish Foundation that it was one of his life’s dreams to meet and become Hellboy. So, they shattered the bones in one of his hands. That way, when the bones healed wrong, that one hand would grow bigger than the other. Just kidding. That would take too much time. He’s being treated for leukemia. He might be terminal for god’s sake.

Instead, Spectral Motion, who did the effects for Hellboy, thought it would be a great to have Ron Perlman reprise his role as Hellboy and surprise the kid. Ron agreed to spend the four hours it took in makeup to transform him into the character because he’s an awesome guy.

Ron loved the idea and donned the makeup once more (with the assistance of Lufeng Qu and Eden Elizalde) and also ordered a Hellboy sized meal of burgers, shakes, and fries for Zachary and his family and the entire Spectral crew to enjoy. Later in the day, Zachary was transformed into Hellboy with the assistance of makeup artists Lufeng Qu and Neil Winn.

This kid really squandered his wish. If I was him, I’d have asked to be Ryan Reynolds for a day. Mostly because I want to have sex with Blake Lively.
