Mariah Carey Doesn’t Want to Share the Spotlight With Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj may not be a lock to be a judge on American Idol as TMZ says Mariah Carey is unwilling to share the spotlight. Mariah was led to believe she’d be the only woman on the panel and adding Nicki would shatter her dream of being the woman in the center of the spotlight like Jennifer Lopez was. It would especially be hard to do when her competition is younger, prettier and arguably more popular.

Not only that, higher-ups think it would be a terrible idea to have two woman and one man on the panel. The assumption, I presume, is that there’s no possible way for that one man to eat all the sandwiches the two women would be making him.

Consequently, they’re searching for a 4th male judge. On the list is Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and Enrique Iglesias. Ideally someone white or who can pass as white because “middle America might not welcome the blackout.” I’m not sure how the executives would phrase that without offending anyone during the meetings. I guess they could say, “Some people might not be able to handle their ‘swagger,'” making sure to put “swagger” in air quotes so everyone would know what they really meant. Hint: black people.
