‘The Oogieloves’ Was a Box Office Failure

The Oogieloves debuted this weekend to one of the worst openings in Box Office history. Opening on 2,000 to 2,500 screens, the film only grossed $448,131. This made the movie the 12th lowest of all time for a wide-release. Adding insult to injury, Oogieloves cost $20 million to make and $40 million to market and distribute. And marketing seemed really desperate considering they bought a page takeover on TMZ.

The opening was so bad that even Miley Cyrus’ LOL managed to beat it out having opened in only 105 theaters but still making $640 per theater as opposed to The Oogieloves’ $206 per theater.

Even after writing this, I still don’t know what the movie is about and I probably never will because it’s sitting at a 2 on IMDB and a 33% on Rotten Tomatoes. I’d rather watch Octomom dry hump her couch than this.

Shia LaBeouf’s Lawless didn’t fair too well either making a paltry $10 million over the weekend. The Possession took the top spot with $17.7 million.
