Duchess of Cambridge Prank Call Nurse Found Dead

Put on your tinfoil hats, everyone. BBC reports that the nurse, Jacintha Saldanha, who answered Sydney’s 2Day FM radio show prank call has been found dead of an apparent suicide. She was found unconscious on Friday at an address in Weymouth Street, central London and pronounced dead at the scene. Jacinta was married with two children.

If you haven’t heard by now, 2Day prank called the hospital Kate Middleton was staying and, using their best impression of the Queen, got the nurse to divulge information about Kate’s condition.

Jacintha wasn’t even the nurse who discussed Kate’s medical condition, rather, she just answered the call. Both the hospital and the palace said they were very supportive of Jacintha as she was the victim of a “cruel hoax.” However, they say she felt “very lonely and confused” after what happened.

Hospital chief executive John Lofthouse said “We can confirm that Jacintha was recently the victim of a hoax call to the hospital. The hospital had been supporting her throughout this difficult time. Jacintha has worked at the King Edward VII’s Hospital for more than four years. She was an excellent nurse and well-respected and popular with all of her colleagues.”

2Day FM has yet to release a statement. However, their Facebook page is already being flooded with angry wall posts.

Wow, I bet the hosts at 2Day feel like the biggest dicks today.
