I was having a conversation with my friend (not imaginary this time) the other day where we were talking about the lack of real action stars. In the past you had Arnold, Seagal, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sly Stallone and a bunch of others. Now it’s just Tom Cruise, who has amazing staying power, and maybe Daniel Craig. Mostly for his Bond stuff.
So we started brainstorming on what current actor had the charisma and “action star” looks to be a Stallone or Arnold. The consensus was no one. Ryan Reynolds will never be not Van Wilder and Tom Cruise is getting old. The closest we could find was Charlie Hunnam who plays Jax Teller on Sons of Anarchy and Pete Dunham in the underrated Green Street Hooligans. Sure he’s British and should automatically be eliminated but he’s all we could think of.
Point being, we now get to see if this guess pans out because he stars in Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim. A film in which Jax Teller fights aliens in gigantic Mecha suits.
Wait, why does Idris Elba get to use his real accent?
