Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight all went missing about 10 years ago. At the time, Berry was 16, DeJesus 14 and Knight was 21. Throughout the years, numerous searches and leads have turned up nothing.
On Monday afternoon, they were all rescued when Charles Ramsey, a neighbor who heard screaming, freed them. Ramsey said that in addition to the screaming, he saw a girl going nuts trying to get outside. “I go on the porch and she said ‘Help me get out. I’ve been here a long time.’ I figure it was domestic violence dispute.” He went on, “She comes out with a little girl and says ‘Call 911, my name is Amanda Berry’… When she told me, it didn’t register.” With the assistance of another neighbor, they broke down the door and helped the three girls escape.
Not only is Charles a hero, he gives a fine damn interview.

The best quote from the interview was how he knew there was something wrong because that’s the only time a pretty white girl would ever run into a black man’s arms. It was a “dead giveaway” he said.
Of course, there’s always the sad news. The 4 or 5-year-old that was with Berry and is presumed to be her daughter which means that she was probably raped. I wonder what Todd Akin has to say about this.
Cleveland police said three suspects, brothers aged 50, 52 and 54 are being held in city jail awaiting charges.
