DOMA Struck Down Today

You’ve probably heard this everywhere but the controversial Defense of Marriage Act was overturned and ruled as unconstitutional by the Supreme Court today.

“The federal statute is invalid, for no legitimate purpose overcomes the purpose and effect to disparage and to injure those whom the State, by its marriage laws, sought to protect in personhood and dignity,” Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in the majority opinion. “By seeking to displace this protection and treating those persons as living in marriages less respected than others, the federal statute is in violation of the Fifth Amendment.”

So there you have it. Everyone can finally get gay married in California now.  Which is why Kristen Bell proposed to her fiance Dax Shepard.

Dax seemed really cool about Kristen Bell calling him gay too.

Good guy. A little oblivious, but good guy.

So, a gay dad can marry his gay son? A gay mom can marry her gay
daughter? Gay brothers can marry? Gay sisters can marry? What about
polygamous gay marriage? Where will the line be drawn?

Umm, I hope this is a joke. You realize that it’s never been legal for relatives to marry. This doesn’t change a thing, just makes things equal between heterosexual couples and homosexual couples.
