Quentin Tarantino Will Fire You If You Don’t Bring a Pen to Rehearsal

Diane Kruger told Page Six that Quentin Tarantino fired an actor for not bringing a pen to rehearsal to take notes script notes with. Tarantino sort of denied it but not really.

“I’m not really sure what she’s referring to . . . However, any actor who shows up at rehearsal without a pen to make notes in their script isn’t professional enough to either be in my movie or worthy enough to be trusted with one of my characters.” He added, “That’s actually part of rehearsal: to test the actors, and if they’re not up to snuff, get rid of them. That’s my job, making sure I’ve picked the right people.”

You’re telling me that a studio can order hundreds of dollars worth of food for Tarantino every day and provide him with unlimited feet to suck on but can’t throw a bunch of pens on a table for actors to use? Makes sense. That 50 cent pen is really going to cut into the budget. Don’t even get Tarantino started on the principle of the thing.
