The poster for Spike Lee’s Oldboy released a couple days ago and now the red band trailer for the film premiered exclusively on Yahoo. It actually looks… good?
Judging from the trailer, it seems to be more of a remake than a PG-13 re-imagining to get a wider audience type film. Which is good news because this might not be as terrible as expected.
Josh Brolin plays Joe who’s still held captive for 20 years and he still meets up with Marie, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and there’s still the mysterious captor who lives in an apartment straight out of the Korean version. There even seems to be the shot-in-one-take hammer fight scene. Also, boobs. Can’t forget that.
