Laura Prepon Not Returning to ‘Orange Is the New Black?’

Orange Is the New Black might be one of the best original series Netflix has released so far. Maybe even the best series from Netflix. It’s even better than the new season of Arrested Development. It’s like what Weeds was in its first 2 seasons. Long story short, go watch it.

Anyway, a new report from Buzzfeed suggests Laura Prepon, who plays a major role in season 1, may be phased out in season 2.

Prepon will come back for a limited number of episodes in the show’s 13-episode second season in order to resolve her story. And the door will be left often for her to return in the future. But the actress did not sign a contract tying her to the show for the upcoming season.

Netflix quickly denied the report. “It’s not accurate,” a Netflix rep insisted. “Our season is still developing and nothing is confirmed.”

That’s basically PR speak for, “Nothing to see here. Move along.” The next step is to change the subject by saying, “Hey, remember that first scene where Laura Prepon showers naked with Taylor Schilling? Yea, you do! (NSFW)”
