Charlie Hunnam Drops Out of ’50 Shades of Grey’

Last we left Charlie Hunnam and 50 Shades of Grey, the internet was collectively whining about how he was a terrible choice for Christian Grey. They even had a facial expert explain how he was miscast saying things like, “The patterns of his facial features show that this guy doesn’t have a kinky bone in his body, so it doesn’t make him believable in the role.”

Well I hope you’re happy, internet. Charlie Hunnam has “dropped out” of the film adaptation of Twilight fan fiction. A joint statement released Saturday said, “The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey.”

Translation: The studios didn’t want to piss off half their audience and dropped him. Good job, guys. I’m sure Matt Bomer, your consensus choice for Christian Grey, would love to step in knowing how quickly you grab your pitchforks.
