Jonah Hill Only Wanted $60,000 For His Role in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’

Jonah Hill wanted to work with Martin Scorsese so badly that he was willing to do the 7 month shoot for The Wolf of Wall Street for only $60,000, the SAG minimum.

Hill, who revealed this on Howard Stern, says he couldn’t sign the contract fast enough because he thought they’d change their minds. Now he’s nominated for an Oscar which is great because I heard those things are worth $50 a pop and lead to a guaranteed illustrious film career. Just ask Halle Berry.

“I am in complete and total shock,” Hill said in a statement after receiving the nod in the Best Supporting Actor category last week. “I honestly was not expecting this, on a level you can’t even imagine. Again, I’m clearly in shock. I didn’t have a plan for celebrating today because I truly did not expect any of this…Truly, this is shocking.”

Hey, guys. Do you think Jonah Hill was in shock? I couldn’t tell.

I think it was a smart career move, personally. It got him another Oscar nom, and even without a win, that will be worth more movie cash down the line.

Who’d have thought Jonah Hill of all people would have 2 Oscar nominations.
